Samsung TV Warranty - Littlewoods

Hi, I purchased a Samsung 37" HD LCD TV from Littlewoods on 15/11/10. When I first got the TV I noticed a faint buzzing noise during dark scenes on the TV. Over the last few months this has got worse, and upon google'ing this, I have found it to be a common problem due to a part from the 42" model being fitted when the item was manufactored.

Littlewoods have told me the TV only has a 1 year warranty with them, is there anything I can do to get a repair from them? The TV cost me £540 :(

Any help would be great, thank you.

You have protection from the sales of goods act but as the item is over 6 months old it is up to you to prove it is an inherent fault with the item and so you would need to get a report done by a suitably qualified person. As your contract is with Littlewoods it is with them that you would need to take this approach.

If however it is a very common problem, and particularly if Samsung have acknowledged the fact there is a problem it may be quicker/ easier to contact Samsung and see if they will deal with you directly and fix it as a guesture of good will

    Hi Craig R,

As the item is over its 1 year guarantee we would advise to seek an independant engineers report to verify the fault. If the fault is found to be a manufacturing fault then we would cover the cost of this report and repair if necessary. We would ask you to provide a copy of this inspection & report.

If the product is not repairable or the cost to repair is uneconomical then we would be able to authorise a return of the TV and issue a refund.

Hope this helps & if you require any further assistance please feel free to email us at help@littlewoods.co.uk.

    Many Thanks

    Chris
