Some London boroughs (but not mine unfortunately) give them on the NHS.0

We paid nothning like that for malaria tablets when travelling however, if you ask your GP perhaps you can get a prescription?0

My local superdrug charge £2.35 a tablet on a private prescription. My GP charges £29 for the prescription though which I think is a bit steep! Travelpharm online was just under that per tablet but will do the prescription / consultation online for £10.0

I asked for doxycycline instead but he said that it wasn't suitable for one of the places that we're going to (for 3 DAYS in the middle of the trip) and you can't chop and change.7 Feb 2012: 10st7lbs

Malarone is expensive, and there is no way round that fact.
There are actually very few places in the world for which Malarone is essential, so ask about other anti-malarial pills that might work for you and your destinations. Please don't believe everything you read on the internet: you might like to look at reliable sites such as CDC (Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta, Georgia).0 -

The reason most people take Malarone is because of it's lack of side effects.
Particularly those with kids (like myself) I have heard all sorts of stories about people who have succumbed to side effects whilst travelling.0 -
