National Grid Metering: Missed Appointment

Can anyone tell me what the standard NG compensation is for a missed appointment please? My meter was due to be changed yesterday and they never showed. This is clearly a flagrant breach of my human rights not to have to sit at home all day scratching my a**e...
I have found some info on the web referring to a £20 payment, but this appears to be years out of date.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Did they leave a house closed card? Was the appointment time banded or time slotted? If you need a new meter, you can get them on Ebay.
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

No, it was an 'all day slot', 8am to 8pm. I was in all day and they did not show.
I don't need a new meter, they wanted to change it!

I think the "Guaranteed Standards" apply.

AFAIAA, it is your supplier (not NG) who take the wrap.

Thanks, but I'm unclear if this applies to National Grid Metering, who are not my supplier. Do NGM compensate me and then reclaim from EDF?
And then since NGM themselves use various third party contractors, they will then have themselves to reclaim from the contractor?
So the real cost of compensating me £20 must ultimately be much higher.

IMO it is entirely a matter for your supplier (Edf). Hopefully Terrylw1 will be along later.

yes you have to go through the supplier. BG used to give you £25 off your next bill, I would have thought that the compensation will be reclaimed from the meter owners. No one should accept the cheeky 8 am to 8pm slot, macman you have joined a club with a very large membership, sat wasteing your day for nothing. I ve been hearing this tale of no- shows for years. The meter fitter ( if he had your phone number from the supplier) could at least have phoned you. The real cost to National Grid will be higher, but nowhere near the cost of the occupier losing a days holiday/pay
They have been trying to switch my meter for a while now but I am hanging on untill they tell me its a smart meter so I don t get mucked about again a year later to change the G4 metric

And if court with it fitted, you will be prosecuted.
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
  • Nice one Chanz4.and if you are caught you will be ticked off and told dont do it again
