Anyone know if you can take alcohol on East Coast trains? I'm sure you can, but just want to double check

Yes you can."If you no longer go for a gap, you are no longer a racing driver" - Ayrton Senna0

With all due respect, I must state my objection to scumbags that drink and get rowdy on trains and disturb my weekly journey to Leeds - whilst clearly sat in the quite coach.
Not specifically aimed at OP btw.0 -
Thanks Jeff
No offence take Brave... My friends, nor I, are scumbags.0 -

Of course you can, how else are you going to get your carry out home so that you can have drink with your evening meal.0 -
It should be illegal to not drink on trains. First rule of being English surely is to have at least one beer on a train, no matter how short the journey.
Never been on a train yet you couldn't drink on, and never would!0 -
I think they banned alcohol on the Tube didn't they? (drinking it - obviously you can carry your stash home from the off license so long as you don't open it)
Mainline trains - drink away! The train I commute to work on has a buffet car selling the stuff.0 -
You're only allowed Special Brew or cans of White Lightning on trains....The man without a signature.0

Yes, unless it has been declared a dry train.Did you really mean to put loose?
Lose: no longer possess, not to retain, unable to find
Loose: not firmly or tightly fixed in place0 -
On my commuter train atleast half have a M&S chilled plastic wine glass or can of cold G&T and a glass. We're civilised here
I am waiting for someone to bring out a tray of canapes to share.0
