Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Wednesday 23rd May 2012 . This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning,

Morning bargainbird and all who cross and follow.
It's going to be a lovely day again here. I have been awake on and off since 2.00am, cuppa at 5am, wood pigeons and blackbirds partying on the lawn.
OH has just taken some lamb out of the freezer for a curry tonight-I will stick it on the top of the cooker later in my little Le Cr****t casserole.
Will see my friend later-we went to Co***o last week and split a pack of mince so will pick that up today as she froze it for me. Also got some little apple juices still in her car boot!
No other plans will put some washing on and just chill in the garden as I did lots of housework yesterday morning.
Have a good day all.

Good Morning BB, Gintot & all to follow.
Tru, so sorry to hear your news
The weather her yesterday was perfect, lovely warm sunshine with a little breeze so you didn't feel too hot - lovely. Hopefully today will be the same.
Will be having a pottering day today, also plan to tidy out a large cupboard in the kitchen so I can put some of the appliances in there that I don't use everyday.
No cooking for me today, DS is going straight out after school to a football tournament and he will eat there, I need to meet DD at college as we have a meeting about her options for next year. It is just at dinnertime so we will eat out, may even try the college restaurant.
Other than that nothing to report. Needless to say will get more washing done and on the line today
Have a great day all & enjoy the sunshine.x0 -

Off to work today, will take boiled eggs and grilled bacon for my breakfast, and a tin of salmon or tuna for lunch.
Dinner tonight is a tuna steak, OH will have new pots with his, and dd will have veggie choice with new spuds, and sweetcorn.
Will do a wash tonight, and get it on the line, its meant to be hot till friday and then a bit cooler.
Topsy shall we buy a hat?
Have good days all xx0 -

Morning everyone
Love and hugs to those that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x
Coudy here this morning, hopefully sun will put in an appearance later. DH up and off to work stupid early.
Have a load finished in WM - will put that out on the line shortly. Think I then have enough for 1 more load.
Haven't been around as been poorly but now on road to recovery, have to go back to hospital this morning, hoping I won't have to go back. Dinner last night was fish, chips/jacket, baked beans/veg - have managed not to deviate from menu plan to much even though not been well. I do need to visit SM today just for a chicken for tonights dinner and some more milk and cheese, will do that on way back from hospital. Dinner tonight will be roast chicken, mash, veg and gravy.
House is a complete pit as we're taking part in the village yard sale this weekend, have items to sell all over my house!
Will crack on, have a great day everyone x
Hugs to those that want/need them, keep safe and well x

Morning :hello:
Thanks for the messages about Molly
I was pleased with myself yesterday, I went for a walk for about 20 mins and there was no pain :j The muscle ached a bit but NO PAIN :jSounds pathetic, really :rotfl: But I'm feeling so much better.
After spending yesterday afternoon wilting, today I'm going to make sure everything's done by lunchtime.
My tomato plants are only about a foot tall and they look a bit straggly, I'll have to see what I can do to improve them. I need to plant more so I'll be the greenhouses first thing, while they're still in the shade.
I did all the washing last night and it's on the line already, so I'm ahead of myself there
Mr tru has started that upspeak thing, I hate hate hate it - I believe it's grounds for divorce? :rotfl:Bulletproof0 -
tru - I'm with you on the upspeak too
....forever moaning at the kids about it.....reminding them they are british
. Me too running about like an idiot this morning.....;)

Morning All
Looks like it is going to be a lovely day again :j We had an impromptu BBQ last night, but I didn't eat much, because I had already had my main meal at lunch time. But it was a lovely evening. I was annoyed this morning to find that they had left 2 bags of charcoal out overnight though.
Knees, ankles and hands are very swollen this morningso back on the diuretics, which means I won't be going far from a loo
.
Settee covers already on the line, and I scrambled around to find enough for another load in the WM (How sad am I :rotfl::rotfl:)
tru (((Hugs))) as for the upspeak I hate it as well.

Morning all
We did end up with a few nice hours yesterday once the fog had burnt off, was very windy though. Looks like the same today, sea fog is rolling around making everything feel damp and chilly.
Managed to get my little poly tunnel up and some seeds planted, wil need to crack on and get the beds dug out now.
Pallets to chop, grass to cut front and back, bathrooms to clean and dinner to sort. Cooked up all the potatoes yesterday as they were on the turn, some in the freezer for roasties and a big portion of mash in the fridge for tonight...got some mince out so either shepherds pie or burgers on the BBQ if the weather picks up.
Dd1 doesn't have any exams today so will rope her into cleaning the car for some extra pocket money. Need to get a CV done with her too as she's desperate for a weekend/part time job but there's just nothing about, I suggested dropping a CV into all the places she'd like to work and see what happens.
Hope you all have a great day."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0
