Aqualisa digital showers: basic advice needed

That you work for Bristan:spam:
Agree. There is rather a strong stink of marketing department promotional BS. Strange how they are so stupid as to treat all trades people as unthinking plebs!
Anyway, based on Bristans patronising platitudes about customer experience (look at their website for a laugh) compared to their non caring, tick box and ultimately contradictory track record, I'll never buy or fit another Bristan Group product. Further more, if you are interested in reliability, VFM and/or delivery of promises you'll not do it either. You have been warned. All together now, "Always look on the bright side of life..." :whistle:0 -
Thanks but I don't actually!0

Interesting point - I don't work for Bristan (as the other comment suggested), just saw the article. Sorry I'm new to this - just thought I'd add to the conversation :-(
Thanks for your advice.0 -
very interesting thread.
I am just about to replace a 20 year old thermostatic Aqualisa shower (closest equivalent would be the Colt) I don't want digital, just another decent shower with GOOD flow so am concerned about comments regarding reduced flow.
Any advice?0 -
As OP I can report the digital shower is still fine.
Have bought several showers recently. All hansgrohe. The modern ones use less water by adding air to the water in the head (thereby bulking up the volume).
I prefer this. Don't notice any discernible difference compared to the older ones (in my house), and the thing uses less than half the hot water as the old ones, therefore the hot water tank lasts longer.
As I understand flow and pressure are different things.0 -
Hi peeps. Assuming this thread is still going, i could do with some advice.
I was all set to buy a new Aqualisa iLux, when i happened upon the post about how poor the new ones are and that Mira Platinum may be better.
I don't mind whether the remote is wireless or wired. I just want to have the simplest, techy experience of pressing a button or 2, to bring on a drench shower at a present temp (other half prefers hugely different temp than me so 2 stored memory locations are a must). I'm not remotely interested in anything "green" or that throttles back the water. Life is already so full of responsible behaviour, the shower is the one place i want a LOT of water
so fast forward 3 years from the original post, which is better? Aqualisa iLux or Mira Platinum ?

Platinum is what I install now
