Aqualisa digital showers: basic advice needed

  • I feel I must contribute to this thread as a mere 'user' of an Aqualisa quartz shower. I had one fitted seven years ago and it's been used twice a day every day since then. This spring it started to mess around, it wouldn't hold the temperature. One call to Aqualisa and the engineer was out in 48 hours, yes it cost me over £200 but if I get another seven years out of the new box thingy they guy fitted in the loft I will be happy.

I've just found this thread, I too have had my shower for 7 years and its started to play up, I guess £200 is better than having to buy a whole new one. Would you say its just as good as it was before or is the water flow slower? I'm planning on calling Aqualisa tomorrow.

thanks for resurfacing this. As the OP I should repot that we went for a HiQu digital shower. It had a overhead fixed head as well as a hand shower. Works a treat.

As I have several other bathrooms I went for a 4bar ST pump which will drive all of the showers. Therefore purchased the one without the pump.

Its a neat install. Looks nice. Loads of water. Cant complain.

Apparently after a few years the processor goes and then Aq will come and change it for about £200. I can live with that.

Thanks for all the advice on here

not a bad business model eh, design something that breaks down in two years that req a £200 replacement part, you don't have to sell that many of those before you just sit back & watch the money come rolling in, i wonder how many people would be happy spending £200 every two years on their boiler, car, tv etc
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.

If you have a grey processor you'll only get a black one as a replacement and they provide a lot less water.

To be fair, £200 for 7 years isn't that bad but a conventional valve would last you a great deal longer before requiring replacement.

Comes with a 5 y warranty. So it only costs you if it fails after 5y.

    It is an indulgence.

Is that for the pumped or unpumped version?
  • Digital showers are renowned for being expensive – but I’ve found this article on a new product on the market from Bristan which is kind of in between a thermostatic mixer shower and full digital shower, but without the hefty price tag (I’ve seen trade prices from £250.71 + vat, which is about £300). And it looks really easy to fit and stylish too!

There's a feature on a CallmeSavvy.com website called: Is this the shower that will shake up the industry.

    What do you think?
  • Philberry. Sorry missed your question. Better late than never! Both.
