A+L card payment day changes

Options
I have an A+L platinum card, and have just recieved a letter informing me that they are bringing the payment date for balances FORWARD (giving us less time to pay any balance).

Anyone who pays buy direct debit may need to alter the dates to avoid charges, and those who dont needs to be made aware of the date change.

as this is a letter fron A+L, I guess it's just their cards that are affected. I am writing this in case anyone doesnt get the letter (Royal mail and bank holidays dont mix well)

their customer services number for more info is 0800 854288.

Hope this helps someone!

Thank you. However I think that those with DD do not need (and cannot) to alter dates. They do need to be aware of the date change in order to have enough funds on their accounts.

As usual with A&L credit cards, this is actually an MBNA change, not an A&L one. I've had the letter too.

I can't see why any credit card company would change your payment date without asking you - most people set their date to be convenient for them (mine are typically just after pay day) so it's rather presumptuous and annoying for MBNA to be doing this.

My letter from A&L says the statement date will change, not the payment date, so my next statement will cover a 40-day period.

"Your direct debit payments will continue to be requested on or around the date they are currently taken so you need take no action."
