Hi, Im looking at at a contract phone .

Ive had a look at the touch screen ones available (iphone, htc, samsung) but still not sure . Not sure which is better-andriod/ iphone

Im going to university in september and want something with the internet but a phone that has a decent battery life- is this too much to ask/not realistic?

With battery life i do understand it goes down if i use apps. But I do want a phone dies even if i dont use anything.

Contract up to £25.

Thank you for any help you can give :)

Unless you want to pay extra for having iPhone, not just a phone that does what you need, consider Android or Windows Phone.
    Contract up to £25.
As a decent amount of airtime is available for £8-£10, do you really want to spend 24x£15=£360 on a phone?
Very decent phones are available for £150 and less:
    Nokia Lumia 710 - £130+£10
    T-mobile Vivacity - £90+£10
    Orange San Francisco 2 - £100+£10
    Huawei Ascend g300 - £100
    ...
    ...

As a side note, my son is a student and pays nothing for airtime via a redemption deal. Not everyone's cup of tea, but he is happy and is getting another similar deal after this one ends soon.

Hi . My current is £12.50, (tesco) but i cant afford to pay out right for a new phone, so thought a contract would be better. I say £25 as i didnt expect their to be very much on offer otherwise.

In such cases I keep saying: "If you cannot afford paying £100 outright then you cannot afford 24x£25 contract for a toy capable of making and receiving calls".
    As simple as that.
My apologies if this sounds a little patronising.

Microsoft do the OS for the phones - Windows Phone.
Nokia, HTC, Samsung and others manufacturers do the phones running this OS.

Straight question - are you 100% sure, come hell or high water, that you can afford £300 per annum for the next 2 years?

If so, then a Contract may be for you, but no Android is going to give you any more than about a day without charging - in fact no smartphone will.

Take out a 1 or 12 month Tesco sim only with decent minutes and 500mb data and buy a £60 android handset either from tesco or unlocked from CPW if you want a smartphone.

If you want longevity of battery, then stay away from smartphones- there are many quite cheap handsets that give you internet/email connection with ecent screens and battery life. Go into CPW/Phones4U/Tesco and take a look.

    I reccomand you Samsung Galaxy.
    Never had it, but recommend?!
    And which Galaxy?
What are you after? Just building your post count? 18 post from 13:29 to 2:31 on different boards was an impressive result. Keep going after a break.

Got to say iphone all the way, the are some good deals on at the moment in prep for the 5. 3 have some really good prices http://www.three.co.uk/Store/Phones/iPhone?id=1230 but I don't know about the coverage and support etc.

I do know someone who has the Galaxy who say that it is amazing but mmm I couldn't say for sure as I have not used it.
