Both of these "points" are just your word against their's. Concentrate on the front-loading aspect and stop berating yourself for falling into the PPI trap which so many millions of others have done.

write back to Lloyds and reject the reasons they gave for not upholding and use the Single Premium as a reason for mis sell.

You dont need a template. One sentence is all it needs.

" I was mis sold Single premium PPI on the above account number"

Put it on the form as your reason.

Reading this & other threads it seems that the loan we took out with Santander in 2007 PPi may have been mis sold as we certainly weren't told about it. We have the pre contact information forms for a fixed - sum loan agreement found in a box after sorting out drawers & cupboards but we don't have any other paperwork/copy of the application form etc.
Will that form be enough or will we need to do a SAR?

I also transferred my bank account to Sandander & was given an Abbey transfer credit card I can't remember asking for it, both the account & card are closed. I have found the pre contract agreement for that too which states I had PPI I can't find any statements but I do have the current account number , is this enough to continue ?

If you have the account number and reasons for mis sell then put the claim in.
Give Santander a ring and ask for any details they have on you, as this was 07 it is possible they can find the account.

Well you'll never guess what happened

Before I could ring them this morning the postman brought us a large letter/packet from them enclosing a questionnaire for us to fill in as they say the FSA has identified problems with the sale of PPI which was included in our loan.:D

Now after reading it through properly tonight some of the questions I can't answer without seeing the application form so hopefully when I call the dedicated team tomorrow they will be able to tell me if they have that or where I can get a copy.

Can someone explain to me what Single Premium PPI is and how I know if I had it?

Of the 6 loans I've put in a claim for 4 of them finished early, but I was only refunded some PPI at the time on 2 of them.

If I did have Single Premium PPI, does this mean I'd be owed more and therefore should have asked for more or would HSBC work this out for me?

It is where the PPI is paid as a single premium and not monthly (latter is the correct way). It is typically added to the loan up front and charged interest on (which is one of the reasons it is not liked).

You can expect to see reference to it on the loan statement and loan agreements.

    The firm works it out.
