The only thing is we put the good side facing us ,I know the polite thing is to put best side to neighbours but we were a bit naughty and put us first.not at all - you put the good side to yourselves - whichever side you perceive that to be.
In my book, he/she who pays for it gets to enjoy it!!!
Couldn't agree more. We get on well with both our neighbours. We've just replaced "our" panels on one side with the good side facing our garden and the other neighbour replaced "theirs" with the good side facing them. Just one last thought on this matter, as I would think that you have already checked, that this fence is yours. When we purchased our property the then owner was not positive. We had to check the deeds of the house to be sure. Our area is the fence which runs on the right hand side of the property to the rear is your responsability.

a camera hidden in a bird box is more effective
this way you can spy and hear the neighbours in the comfort of your living room
(not that i would do this of course but i have done this to cover the bottom of my garden from intruders,the machine gun failed planning though)0
