Faster Virgin Media dropping

I have had my Virgin Media Internet upgraded from 30 to 60 MBs about a week ago. While the download speed reaches about 50 MB/s and upload 2.7 Mb/s, the connection constantly drops. This means that since speed has increased I can no longer use applications that require a continuous connection, like Skype or Internet radio. Skype and Internet radio actually work better on a 3G mobile phone than on Virgin Media.
Has anyone else experienced this with the Virgin Media new faster Internet? Any suggestions on how to stabilize VoIP and Internet radio?

Are you using wireless or ethernet? If the former, what happens when connecting by ethernet? If the problem goes away, it is just a wireless issue-start with a channel change. No free lunch, and no free laptop

I am using wifi as well as Ethernet. The problem exists on both types of devices. (We experienced far fewer drops before the speed was increased.0

OK, so it's not a wi-fi issue. No free lunch, and no free laptop

I am pretty sure that the problem is somewhere between the modem and the switch or it may be, I fear, that the increase in speed leads to longer drops (not cushioned by the streaming).0

There's a lot of stuff on Virgin help pages, the new Super Hub seems to have caused all sorts of problems. I am OK on Ethernet, but have to use old router plugged into new hub to get wireless connection.0

No such thing on a cable service, they work completely different than DSL broadband as it runs over the CATV service & not the phoneline.
What modem do you have?...Some of the older ones can't handle the higher speeds too well.
TBH,it could be caused by a few things, one of them being none standard cable & fittings on a DIY job to move the modem. But more likely it is a signal level/return or forward path issue.
You need a service tech out to check your signal levels & adjust them as well as check the connections as a damaged F or cable can cause issues with signal.0
