Is it ok to wear black accessories to a wedding?

I'm really stressing over wearing a black pashmina style wrap with a green dress to a wedding saturday (ridiculous I know but blaming pregnancy hormones!!) with black shoes. Will this be ok? I mean hoping for lovely sunshine however..... I just don't want to seem gloomy! Also do you have to change into another outfit for the evening do? Thanks in advance for answering my non-pressing enquiry!

Sounds fine to me. I've never been to a wedding where anyone other than the bride (and that only rarely) changed in the evening.
Enjoy it!0 -

Wouldn't have even crossed my mind tbh. Some people do think you shouldn't wear all black to a wedding, but accessories would be fine I'd have thought.
After all, men wear black suits and black smart shoes
Have a lovely time, and best of luck with your pregnancy!0 -
Black pashmina with a green dress is fine :-)
And no you don't have to change for the evening0 -
I think black is fine for a wedding and looks very smart.
You do not have to change for the evening but it is nice sometimes to have a shower and get into something else perhaps more comfortable if you can, especially if it has been a long day.
Obviously only possible if you are local/staying locally to the venue.0 -
Fine all the way.
I don't think I would even ask myself the question!
Just wear a lovely smile on your face and it definitely won't be gloomy.:DI lost my job as a cricket commentator for saying “I don’t want to bore you with the details”.Milton Jones0 -
Dress and Pashima sounds fine, Praps you could put a big green flower on the Pashima if it makes you feel more confident.
As for changing, its entirely up to you.
I have two wedding outfits, cant make up my mind so I'll be back to the B & B for a shower and change into the 2nd one.
Brides mum's prerogative:Dmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Fab, thanks everyone! Will stop worrying!
I'm not quite sure how the days going, I know all the hotels the couple recommended were 25 mins drive away from wedding venue & our invite (we are all day invitees) just states time to arrive so not sure what time evening starts so even if there would be time to go back to hotel to change tbh. Though at my own wedding and friends earlier on in the year there was about a 2 hour gap between meal ending and evening starting. Think I will now chill about it! Thanks again!Spreading a little Christmas joy all year round :santa2:0 -
I went to a wedding when I was heavily pregnant in a green dress and a black jacket, and nobody said anything.
Hope you have a brilliant day and make the most of partying before the little one arrives. Here I go again on my own....0 -
Was at a wedding last year where the bridesmaid wore a black dress, the contrast with the bride's white dress was interesting0
