Could you remove link pls.
Bee, you obviously have your reasons, but I was just wondering why you want the link removed (I did note your request not to add one in your OP). You are trying to actively market your property for rent to as wide an audience as possible, but reluctant to add a link to a publicly viewable website showing your listing. Just seems a little strange to me.
If you want silvercar who posted the link to remove it, you might want to pm them, as they may not revisit the thread. Then you need to remove your post with the link in it, otherwise it will still be here.
Good luck with your viewing!0 -

Same here, haven't we all been for a nosey anyway? Theres a huge "For Let" sign on the front lawn, so I cannot really understand the paranoia about linking it here ...
OP, with respect, you seem very nervous about this whole situation, and very emotionally attached to the property. My advice is that if you are going to be an effective LL, you must detach yourself from the house, and learn to treat it like a business premises. You will still own it, but it will no longer be your home, and there is little you can do to control how the tenants choose to live in it. It is how they return it to you at the end of their time there that matters. I hope you are moving far enough away that you will not be tempted to have the occasional "drive-by" and start fretting about the tenants not devoting as many hours of love and care in looking after the place as you did.
There are often posts here about people in your position, who for whatever reason have had to relocate and let their former home. It is hard to let go, and will be a wrench to leave, but once you sign that tenancy agreement, you are giving sole possession of it to those tenants. You must try to be rational about it, after all, it is only bricks and mortar as they say, but I am beginning to wonder whether the paranoid state you are portraying here, means you are not cut out for the letting game.
Hope your viewing later goes well! Let us know how you get on.0 -

The property is going to be managed by the agent. And I don't think work or distance will allow me to just drive by. But I do still worry,..and biggest nightmare now, is ending up with the wrong kind of tenant. You know the one who doesn't do the garden, who doesn't doesn't use the extractor fan when having a shower:eek:.......the list goes on....worst still what happens if they sublet...or use the my precious home for criminal activities..........
I am trying to impartial and accept things as it comes...but that doesn't stop me worrying....maybe a year on ,when we are settled in our new home...I can let go of this home;)
But you got to appreciate it is difficult and any advice to deal with this is most helpful. Thanks for all the input, will update tomorrow on what happened with the viewing.0 -

I am afraid the first thing you need to do is stop referring to the house as 'my precious home'.
Letting is a buisness, you don't have to like the tenant! It is their home not yours and they are free to use it as they wish as long as they don't cause damage.
I really am not sure you are doing the right thing unless you change your mindset. sorry!0 -

Bee 78 I feel like I can empathise with you as I had all the same worries when letting my mum's flat. One prospective tenant worked in Liverpool and was going to commute (to Bury), ok not a million miles but I imagined him getting fed up with the commute, losing his job and having to claim benefits.
I'm sure it will be fine. We have a tenant now and I'm not too worried as he wants it long term and when he moves out, we will just strip everything. Just remember that even if, shock horror, the tenants don't use the extractor - it can be fixed !! Good luck.0 -
By not marketing it here, you are however complying with the Forum rules which state:Yes, but I am not marketing it here, I am only here for a chat and good advice. Maybe I am being paronid......:rotfl:
