Afternoon everyone
Spent the morning helping out DSs class so am trying to psych myself up to get some house work done. Vac desperately needs to be put round and I have a mountain of ironing to put away
No idea what's for tea, haven't looked at planner yet
Ok can't hang about on here.

Thank you for all the ideas re cherries, I'm glad that no-one suggested throwing them out. With ice cream is sounding v v nice. I may add chocolate sauce for that Black Forest effect lol.
I was just wiping the outside of the kitchen door (for the first time in ages), came in, started to rinse out my cloth, and I think I may have drowned a bee. Outside the kitchen door is getting very crunchy with fallen bees. I think that the weather is confusing them as well as everyone else. Yes, we still have bees in the chimney.
Taking five until I need to make darling father's lunch, he doesn't want to break off before he finished planting his union jack flower bed.
This morning has not been a good morning. Darling uncle has been on the phone a lot. One hour before I pick up little bear, need to motor.
Roast pork for tea tonight. It was supposed to be for Sunday 'lunch' (which we have at tea time) but darling father gave me three hours notice that he wouldn't be having tea at home and OH doesn't like pork that much so we had another round of beeferoni which darling father doesn't like that much but OH does, and are having (all things being equal) Sunday tea tonight. I am having a few problems with meal planning. Hopefully easier when I get a new slow cooker.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -

Oh, my. What is this strange object I am gazing at? Ah, yes. It's the bottom of the laundry hamper which I haven't seen for many a long month. Just in the nick of time too, the next lot of ironing is just about ready to go in there.
Usual manic weekend here at the Holy Villas, but upward and onward into a new week.
Must keep on top of the washing and ironing this week as we are off to Symi at the beginning of next week. I haven't dug out any summer clothes yet as it is too hard to imagine being in temps of 20+. But it must be done or I will be the only person in the whole island wearing cord trousers and warm sweatshirts. Also I hate going off and leaving the house less than clean and tidy but there is about 2 weeks of hard work before it reaches that happy state and in the next 7 days that will have to be fitted round washing, ironing and packing. Oh, and doing the church magazine before Friday. Did I mention the Mayor's civic service on Wednesday that I am detailed to make all the sandwiches for. And also on Wednesday I am being taken out to lunch for a treat by 2 old friends - I'm not supposed to know about that so am practising my surprised expression.
We are practising Alan Sugar's Tiny Fork diet which is brilliant on the purse strings. We only managed to eat half our Sunday lunch yesterday so it has stretched to today as well. At this rate we should halve our grocery bills - hope it has an equal effect on our weight.
de1amo: What's this about visiting the doctor once a year to remain as a patient. Please don't tell me that this is now a requirement. I go to the doctor about once a decade and wouldn't recognise the one I signed up with when I arrived here 3 years ago if I fell over her. I did have to see the practice nurse when I signed up, who did the usual tests and told me that my blood pressure was slightly too high - no change there then, it's been slightly too high for the last 50 years at least - and to go back in a month to have it checked again. In your dreams madam.
I have been disgustingly healthy all my life, if overweight since birth, and have never spent a night in hospital or had anything more serious than a frozen shoulder. I know I've been so lucky, (lucky, lucky, lucky,) but I've reached the age of 73 without much medical intervention and hope to go on a bit longer.
LoneWolf: Fire and Brimstone to anyone who dares to upset our own LW. We all look forward to your posts and your love for all animals is as high a recommendation as anyone could need.
I feel that I should stand at the ferry terminal wearing a sandwich board saying "Welcome to the IOW, LW," next week. I hope that the weather cheers up for you. It's dry and bright here at the moment but not overly warm.
If I may be very presumptious I will offer a little prayer that you have a good and reasonably painfree time.
That's it for today.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Just finished reading The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel on my kindle and I recommend it to anyone as a very nice read.It puts older peoples lives into perspective and although I couln't stand the heat i could quite like to go to somewhere similar
:)
DGS Ben has his English GCSE exam tomorrow and exams for the next three weeks at least bless him.I hope its not too hot for him although I want some sun it seems hard for the youngsters to be swotting when its sunny. He suffers with hay fever quite badly so maybe it won't be too bad if the wind drops.
Just going to put my feet up and watch some rubbish t.v. and do some knitting now to relax
Have a good evening everyone0
