    morning all!

a lovely morning here:j the birds were singing merrily at 4.30am when DH got up for work:D I love listening to it!

We have a huge colony of sparrows under the eaves and in the hedge by the back door - noisy little devils they can be:Dbut I love watching them darting around.

Off to work on a late shift today so just pottering around this morning.

When it comes to messy rooms my DS2(nearly 20) can show them a thing or two! his is dire:eek: but at his age there's now way I'm touching it. He says he knows where everything is:D

WM is on - house is tidy and I've mopped the bathroom and kitchen floors.

Lame Wolf - (((hugs))) Please dont stop posting - I love your posts and hearing about your doggy visitors! x x x

Good luck to those doing exams!

    Have a good day all x x

hugs to lame wolf - you have always been so lovely!

Took little bear to school, jumping over booby traps and ducking from the monsters. He kept up the instructions all the way across the playground and up the five separate slopes to the classroom entrance. All the other mums and dads think I am insane anyway.

Asking opinions here - two years ago darling father came home with two carrier bags full of cherries (he had been buying a mate a drink in a pub, and they had got talking....) So we ate some and I stoned the rest and bunged them into kilner jars, added some sugar and covered them with brandy. They are still there.

Should I bin them? Should I just have the dratted things with cream? I am nervous that I missed at stone and that someone will break a tooth or choke. I was considering straining the cherries, saving the flavoured brandy to drink, putting the cherries through a sieve and using them for a crumble. Would that work? Any suggestions really gratefully received!

    hugs to all

Hester - hope you can take it easy

Come back pet- we are on your side and miss you and am mentally handbagging the "person" who upset you. Huge gentle hug from us all if that does not sound a bit scary.:grouphug:

Hope Hesters ankle is a bit better and that work is not as bad as usual.

How about a posh topping for ice cream? Your story about LB and monsters reminded me of DH 's face the time he went into the kitchen to find me and dds jumping up and down on the floor shouting " get rid of the wolf!":o DDs had been having bad dreams about wolves and when I told them there were no wolves in England got the reply "Yes there are , daddy took us to see them!" GrHH! On a family holiday he had taken them to the attached small zoo/ wildlife area while I took littlest to play.

Having a cuppa after clearing brekkie stuff, loaded dishwasher etc and cleared up a bit. Answered door for parcel for one dd, took it upstairs and noticed youngest's bedroom looks as if she has been burgled. Not saying anything as she is stressed to the eyeballs by a levels and exams.

Made veggie pasta salad last night for dds to take for lunch at school or work and have a la leftovers for me, DH and other dd who is home today. No idea what to cook tonight as have been making lasagne, fish pie and curries etc for the last few days.

Might use up the sweet potatoes and make soup with bratwurstinnabun to follow or else potato salad.

Went to Leeds market on Saturday - not been there in ages and got lots of fruit and veg, three books from a stall and dh treated me to a new money plant (he moved the last one too much as we moved house and it died) so hoping this one will thrive and bring us luck in sale of fil's bungalow etc.

    Hugs to all

wannabesybil You have the basics for Kirshwalder a pudding from Germany that my late OH adored.Top a bowl of it with whipped cream and ice cream and its delicious. We would have it instead of Christmas Pudding at holiday time as it was so lovely and it certainly made for a very Merry Christmas. Our surname is Walder and he first had some when he was on national service in the RAF years ago and when we went to Tennerife its served in German restraunts there. The soaking of the cherries in brandy turns them into nectar of the gods believe me its not for the fainthearted though :):)and definitely not for children

Good morning chums by the way,I have just got back from doing the school run plus a dental appointment for one of the boys.I'm now awaiting the boiler man who will service the central heating for me.Looks as though we are going to have a nice sunny week for a change although its quite cloudy at the moment.Still its dry which makes a nice change .I'm hoping the service man comes sooner rather than later so I can get to the shops and get some essential stuff. Its all rush and tearing around todayStill keeps me on my toes only 12 weeks until our family summer holiday, fingers crossed we have some sunshine as its on the Norfolk coast which can be a bit windy
have a good day everyone whatever you are doing
    Cheers JackieO xx

    Good Morning All

De1amo - seems like you need an mot ;) my OH is the same - he is gradually getting around to the idea that he needs to look after himself better - good luck.

    Lamewolf, please dont stop posting!

Later posting than normal from me - am trying to be good and not go on the computer first thing - very distracting.

Kitchen wiped down, dw emptied, have washed all the cooker hob and hood bits and now need to clean the hob and surrounding tiles. Have removed half the house's crockery from DD's bedroom :o

Been into the city for a birthday card, a Starbucks, and some pet food and bits.

Just going a little paperwork then will continue with the cleaning, lots of ironing got done yesterday but not all, will clear the pile today whilst watching Criminal Minds on sky+.

Very easy cheese and onion pasty with chips and beans for tea.

    Have a great day all.x

i am the 'wellest' ill person according to my doctor, i only see him once a year to touch base and fulfill my obligation to remain a patient.i just pop the pills and get on with it---my retort to his comment about not seeing him enough is 'no offence, but i dont like doctors!!'

  • Afternoon All,

Lamewolf - Come back! Dont know you but love reading your posts (and all others!) Knickers to whoever/whatever may have upset you!

Very successful weekend - made Butternut Squash & Oregano soup, worked it out to be about 25p a portion :D, made Chilli with Lidl mince that was on offer for 99p/pack at the weekend, again, worked it out to be about 50p a portion. Made HM laundry powder off recipe on MSE and did 3 loads of washing - impressed so far, although our washing doesnt tend to be that dirty(!) so would be intersting to see it on heavily soiled clothing.

The Takeaway Secret book came through on Fri so I cooked the doner kebab on Fri night. OMG! It was amazeballs (even if I do say so myself!) definately 10/10, cant wait to try another recipe.

Tonight will be ironing, ironing & more ironing.
Will wash the sofa covers tonight so can peg them out in this lovely sunshine tomorrow :T

Must try and dust the house this week too - I can write my name in dust on our telly......oh the shame!

    Have a lovely day

    Lou x
But I want a golden goose daddy and I want it right NOW!!!!!

Hi, just popping in briefly; thank you all for caring.:A I confess to having had an awful weekend; but there we are, I'm still here, despite all.:o

De1amo sounds like you and I have the same "healthy" dislike of medical bods - I have to touch base with my GP every 6 months for a meds review! :D

Busy week - got to get the bungalow up to scratch and finish packing my case. I shall be away next week, and I don't have an iPhone to post on the go, so unless you hear of the IOW Ferry sinking, don't worry about me.;)

Redruby those Kong toys are fantastic - one of my regulars, Ted, is a nervy little guy, he has a nightlight and a radio on playing Classic FM at night, and his Kong filled with treats when he goes to bed.:D

Must go - the kitchen won't clean itself, unfortunately.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
