Wedding gift bag for overnight campers

Hi all,

I'm getting married in June (eeek so excited!) and we're having a relaxed fete themed wedding in a big field next to a village hall (or in the hall if the weather doesn't get any better). We're going to be camping over as are about 30 of our guests (17 tents). 10 of the campers are aged 0-10.

We've basically decided to give each tent a welcome bag with a couple of bits and bobs as favours. I've sourced some cotton drawstring bags online which we're going to use iron on transfers to personalise but the big question is what to put in them? So far we've got glow necklaces for the kids and glow sticks for the tents and some small packs of wipes for freshening up (there are no showers!).

Anyone have any other ideas of what we could put in there? What would you like to receive in a welcome pack?

That sounds absolutely amazing for a wedding day :) I hope you have a wonderful time.

The only thing I can possibly think of is maybe those anti-mozzie candles? If each tent had one lit outside at night it would look pretty :)

Not wishing to be a party pooper (honestly) but doesn't the fact that you're stressing about what to put into the party bags go against the grain of a relaxed wedding?

If you can get them cheap enough, those handwarmers you click to start ...

I'd add a packet of tissues, as well as the wipes.

You do realise how sound travels when you're camping?

    Lovely idea!

How about dry shampoo, hot chocolate sachets, marshmallows to toast or put on the hot chocolate?

I love the candle idea and Aldi had the gel handwarmers twin pack for 99p

If there will be significant quantities of alcohol at the wedding then I'd definitely go for a packet of paracetemol and a bottle of water or instant coffee sachet.

Also maybe some alcohol hand gel, ear plugs, condoms.

For the kids I'd be tempted to do a separate gift bag or box (one for all the kids to share) with some outdoor games - I was at a picnic with some friends and their kids over the weekend and some relatively cheap outdoor games went down a storm (even with the adults). Most of them could be used inside as well if the weather didn't cooperate.
Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!

People bringing their own tents? In that case a few spare tent pegs for each bag :-) damn things are worse than socks for disappearing.

I don't like the candle idea in case some drunken guest thinks it's a good idea to light one inside their tent. a couple of glow sticks to tie to the guy ropes is better and just as pretty.
