    Last time I sold (albeit about 9 years ago) was through Autotrader. I've bought and sold through them.

    I've never had a car go unsold though AT.

    I don't bother with a picture just use the whole insertion for text. People know what the car looks like and a grainy B&W isn't going to influence them. The text only ads stand out.

    Are they? Even so they still don't tell you anything about the quality of the car.

    The only annoying thing about Autotrader is the £9.99 for a grand and under then it's a massive hike for everything else. Not too bad if you are selling a 10k car but rather annoying if it's only worth £1500 (which I'm sure the OP's isn't).

    The flat rate was why I sold my last car on eBay and made a video walkround too.
