Pretty much them all. The only exception are Iphone where apple won't let them add anything or if you buy Sim Free.

Buy a contract phone from a third party like CPW, P4U etc and you are likely to get it clean and unlocked.
  • It is a real shame the operators feel the urge to spoil phones with their stuff.

The Carphone Warehouse tip is good, it's a shame the shop always seems very pushy. Being jumped on by sales staff discourages any purchase in my view.

I go into the carphone warehouse and have a play with the phones until I find which one I want. Then I look online for it.
I decided on the HTC desire S and got it £150 cheaper from Amazon instead of buying it from the carphone warehouse and got a sim only contract. Usually works out cheaper buying the handset outright.

The thing is... the stuff networks put on is NAFF rubbish that you never use just bloats up the phone... Android have a bad habbit of loading their phones with crap you don't use and can't remove as well though :(
  • I removed a load of Orange stuff from my Android phone.
