Hello hypno & welcome back!
I'm so sorry to hear about your bags being pinched but I had to laugh at the thought of someone just getting a load of dirty washing! Serves them right the cheeky B*******!
I hope you can claim for the clothes you had to buy in emergency too!? Good luck with that anyhow.
I am glad that you had a good time apart from that incident.
As I say....welcome 'home'!Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.

Yesterday was spent with that bloody brick wall again. My head just loves hitting itself against it.....:wall:
Last month those delightful people at egg put up my interest rate by 5% and can't justify it so i am taking them to the financial ombudsman.
Then yesterday the same lovely people wrote to my DH to tell him that they are putting his rate up for the second time in 4 months. So it has gone from 16.9% to 24.9% in 4 months!!!
That is an increase of 47% which I think is disgusting, unfair and unjustified. So we have put in another complaint and will take them to the ombudsman too if need be. Ok, so we may not get anywhere but we have to make our point. How can they justify an increase of 47% - is inflation that high? NO!!!!!
Then DH said that they have paid him £75 too much so will reclaim it in next month's pay.....
I need to get my matched betting head back on - remember that if I make £50 a week from it, then my Egg card will be gone within a year.
Also, we need to get ebaying again and car-booting - money from those are going towards DH's Egg card in the hope that can be paid off within a year too.
The sooner I get rid of those shisters the better
Sorry for the rant at the start of the day. Here's hoping for a more productive one today.....:DSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Feel a little more positive today, despite Egg coming back with a crap answer to my request for justification of the interest rate rise.
I have done my totals now that all the payments that go out on 1st month have gone through and so far this year I have paid £5419.16 off our debt!
I have a target of £10000 to clear by the end of the year so am over half way there. If I get my Barclays charges back then I will have achieved my target and can really start to feel as though I am getting somewhere.
Also, my Tesco loan is now under £3000 so another psychological barrier broken! This comes to an end next summer, so every month the total comes down nicely, now that we are paying off mainly capital :T
My Egg card is my next target to hit big time - currently standing at £2334.12 - I am getting there.
So, big thanks for all the ideas, challenges, and support from DFW so far :TSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
sounds like you are making good progress.
I agree about the financial ombusdman, how anyone can justify that Ive no idea! Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
All I want from Egg is a straight answer to a straight question. What I have got so far is basically that they can do what they like.
So perhaps the FO will get a straight answer although Egg didn't seem too bothered when I told them that this was my next port of call!
I just want to make the point that the little guy has a voice and they cannot just assume that we will all roll over and play their mean games!

At least at the end of the day I can say that I tried, which may unfortunately have to be as good as it gets. But I won't have to look back and say "what if" or "maybe I should have....."Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. Well, I am finally getting my head together again after holiday and hopefully the imminent bank holiday weekend won't throw things out of sync again.
It has taken me until now to get back into DFW ways properly - up until now my head has just been mush!
But the sun is shining, I have seen lots of clients today and I have re-done my snowball calculation to take into account the overpayments from ebay and matched betting and I can proudly announce that it has been brought forward by 2 whole months!! Woo Hoo!!
It now stands at Jan 2011 so I think another concerted effort is required to try and pay off enough to bring it forward to sometime in 2010.
I was thinking of doing a car boot sale this weekend, but we have house guests so I have been told that I am being very rude by even considering to do a car boot! So I will have to put those plans on hold.
I have made another couple of small overpayments on the dreaded Egg cards today and felt fab updating my signature and seeing the numbers reduce.
Today also sees the end of my first year as a self employed bod! I have survived my first year :T :T
Here's to a profitable year two.....:beer:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0
