uncollected parcel

segtree
i ordered goods from a mail order catalogue and when the parcel arrived the goods i order was not in the parcel, in fact i had been giving goods belonging to someone else yet the parcel had my name and address and in the parcel was a invoice with all my details and the items i had ordered which was not in this parcel.
i called the company and they refunded my account and said that someone would collect the parcel within 7 days. its almost been a month and i still have the parcel waiting to be returned.
now the question is do i phone the company again or do i just keep the parcel. the goods inside are clothing.

Do you need to post on a forum to ask this? Give them a call.0

And do you need to be so condescending and rude to a first time poster? Particularly as you are new to the forum yourself!
OP - I have had the same thing happen to me and I have not bothered to phone the company again. They organised for it to be collected - I have done my bit, its up to them now.0 -
The first reply may have been a bit blunt, but it was essentially correct. The goods aren't yours, so the best thing to do is to phone the company and remind them that they haven't collected the parcel yet.If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -

Condescending, or just common sense? No one should need to ask what to do in this situation.
Or they could take your advice, and then receive a bill for the goods they have in their position. Really smart!0 -
yes i know that common sense is to recall the company, i guess i was just wondering if that they never collect the parcel can it legally become mine. i will not be charged for these items as the packers messed up the orders by putting the wrong items in the bag.
thank you all that replied, rudely or politely ( i do prefer the polite replys)0 -

You rather missed the point I was making!
I note this is not the first time that you have taken it upon yourself during your short time on this forum to tell someone off for posting a question.
There is no such thing as a stupid question and even if you do not agree with that you are still requested to be nice to a Newbie. Those are the rules - I suggest you read them before you post again!!!0 -
I've still got someone else's £60 Delonghi deep fat fryer which Amazon delivered to me in December.
I've told them twice and it's still here.
Once should be enough.
Twice is maximum.
I'm not going to contact them again.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -

Exactly. The onus is on the company now to collect the goods.0 -
I agree with gregg1. It's up to the company to send someone to collect their mistake. Just make sure they have applied the refund to your account.0
