Hello All,
I have just sold my car and cancelled my car insurance.
I now drive my partners car as a named driver.
I seem to remember hearing somewhere that if one dosen't have motor insurance for some time, you lose your NCB, my NCB is at the maximum and i may want to have my own insurance sometime in the future.
Any advice wou ld be appreciated.

Most insurers need this to be within 2 years of expiry of the previous policy, although the odd few may go to 3 years.
If you need to start again, insurers may allow you an introductory discount, especially if you have been regularly driving (without claim, accident, etc) as a named driver on anothers policy"Now to trolling as a concept. .... If you are "formal" partners, and you find insurers that allow it, (because of the ownership issue), take turns in insuring the car each year thereby preserving both sets of NCD.0 -
Many thanks to you all, what a great wealth of info on here!
