Hi,
I would like to know where i stand regarding the mobile phone i have.
It's a Blackberry Torch purchased via Contract on the 27/4/2012 from Tesco, Blackberry informed me by message that an update was due and not to turn off the phone so i did what was required and doing at night seemed the best idea, i was told that it would just need restarting so i did this but all i got was the clock so took out the battery then just had white screen took it back to Tesco explaining what i had done and they had no idea and said it would have to go for repair and it would take 10 days (yea right!!!) after waiting the 10 days rang them and a girl laughing told me people had been waiting 3 weeks and said i would call the next week. Called them last night and unbeknown to me i was chatting to the repair side and they said they where waiting for parts from Blackberry and had no idea or any time line and other than that Customer services giving me a £5 refund on the fact im not using BBM that's all ive been offered. What I'd like to know is where i stand and can i pressure them or anything.
It has insurance

Many thanks in advance

If they can't repair it within a reasonable time they have to replace it.

Ask the authors of the Sale of the Goods Act. They thought that judges didn't have enough work to do and left it to them to decide what is reasonable in every case.

They also wrote: "without causing significant inconvenience". You may want to ask them about "significant" as well.

err given that this phone is less than 4 weeks old, you should have insisted on a replacement. They tried this with DD, we'll send an envelope for you to send it back, we refused point blank, and they arranged for us to take it into one of the stores that had a mobile shop for replacement.

From what I gather, they don't repair all that many Blackberries and get sent replacements from RIM to send back. However, RIM are dragging their heels and not giving them enough.

If the repair takes over 28 days you can call the care team and they may be able to sort a replacement from Tesco
