New York Flight help please

Wanting to book flights in mid-September from Heathrow (don't think they fly out of Gatwick anymore), am getting a price of around £500 from BA & Virgin for direct flights.

Any advice as to whether to book now or to hold off until nearer the time?

Thanks

Why not consider other airlines? If the price matters that much ot you, travel with Air India or Kuwait airlines. And I'm sure there are ways to fly there from Gatwick.
  • Don't wait. Busy busy summer ahead, airlines are not going to have any difficulties filling planes. Although September is post-Olympics, air fares will remain buoyant because folk seem to be avoiding the Olympics by scheduling their holidays before and after.

Best fare London/NTC in mid-September is in the region of £475 return with US Airways from Gatwick, but indirect via Charlotte, South Carolina. That will add a couple of hours to your trip.

Thanks we've booked now. We have children so although price was a factor, changing/stopover wasn't very appealing.

Realised I had some Tesco vouchers which I transferred to Virgin Miles, so that reduced the cost anyway.

    Thanks again :)
