Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 19th May. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in,put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well

    Morning all

    Where is everyone?!

Feel a bit silly starting the thread when I don't have much to say :rotfl:. Raining here. I'm going to meet the girls for lunch later so will pop to Aldi for a few bits to spend my last few pennies on before payday.

OS wise - HM celery and apple soup to freeze, HM curry for dinner from freezer, need to hoover and wash dishes.

    Have a fab day all

    Morning Flutterby,
A quick post before i get a shower. I'm in work today, actual work not sat at home on the laptop. I do actual work at home i would like to add. I'm dragging myself off to the office.
Raining outside but the garden is looking very green & the birds seem happy.
I waved eldest child off earlier on, he is away for a few days. It gave me an insight into how i will feel in september when he goes to uni.
Youngest child is very happy i have found a gift card for a toyshop, guess where he will be going later.
Right thats me done, enjoy your day all, I'm going shopping after work, a stock up at aldi & a free range chicken for tomorrow.

    Hugs to all

Are you all still asleep?! Must admit I had a bit of a lie in myself this morning, DD still sleeping, she's working at 12 today.

Avenue Q was really good, very funny and very clever. I think someone's description of Sesame Street for Adults was very apt! We didn't know what we wanted to eat after so ended up having a take away - not very OS but we don't do it very often.

Going to have a clean and tidy in a while and will have to do some shopping, the fridge is looking quite bare. I have done well using everything up and only threw out a little bit of cucumber that had been hiding.

Enjoy your weekends. Take care. XX

Morning all been up since 7 and have walked dog and got ready for my day out. No OS for me today just going to spend. To be fair it's money I wouldn't have had but for MSE-PPI refunds. I'm off to the quilt festival at Malvern and will buy lots of fabric for future projects.
Hugs to alll in need and hope you all have a good day, just hope it cheers up later.:)

apologies for my extended absence, I've a problem with my ankle, I haven't done anything to it but it is very painful, stiff & swollen, I've hobbled round work all week & managed to do my lunch duties but by the end of each 9 hour day I've had to sit with my foot raised & as I have a pc & not a laptop it hasn't been possible to log on.
It's not raining yet, so I have the WM chugging away, the DW is finished & needs emptying & reloading. I need to drive hubby to Tesco this afternoon when he's finished work (thankfully I drive an automatic) as his glasses are ready for collection & I have some paid for sewing to do.
Sorry if I've missed anything important, hugs to those in need.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    Morning all,

Bright sunshine here atm, not sure how long it will last though, wm is on the first of 3 loads, so will get that all on the line today, OH work jeans need a boil wash, and he has been working outside, and they are thick mud, is it sad that I like to see them come out of the wm all fresh and clean :o:rotfl:

Not sure what we are up to today, I have some clubcard vouchers that I want to double up into clothing ones, and see if there is anythind for dd or I for our holiday, Mr T also has ben and jerrys half price atm, its mine and dd's favourite :D

Dinner tonight is fajitas, which OH will cook, I will go and see my dad early evening today, I normally go at lunchtime, but is kind of eats your whole day then, will go at tea time, and help with his tea.

Need to have a general tidy round this morning and give the kitchen and bathroom a good clean.

    Have good days all

And :bdaycake::bdaycake: Happy Birthday to Cranky, hope you still read, hope you and the house elf are ok xxxx

Cloudy here today but it dry at least. DH and DS still in bed and DD is at her BF's again. It would be nice if they could afford a flat of their own, but with rents and bills the way they are they just can't afford to.
DH needs to go to B&Q today to pick up some stuff from work, I will go with him just to mooch and look in the gardening section.
    Have good days all x

    Morning everyone :)

    Its raining here BOOOOOOO :(
Just got back from walking Luna, just scoffing my poached egg on toast <drools>
Plans for today are to go shopping. No not food shopping but clothes shopping :T I am determined to have some child free time today doing something I want to do so shopping it is. Will probably come back moaning about how much I hate shopping, looking for clothes, feeling fat and hideous in the changing room mirrors but hey a girl can pretend can't she? :rotfl:
other than that day will be spent putting vac round, entertaining the kids and DD keeps requesting jammy muffins.......for some bizzare reason she doesnt like the choc chip ones

Hugs and spoons all round x

Esmf - Happy birthday to you xxx:beer:
