I have Tomtom on my iphone (nice at £50 as opposed to £100 for a unit that could break in 2 years time) and have been pleased with the free updates.
However in the autumn will come iOS6 with Apple's own maps and navigation tool.
OP, do you have a smart phone? I know the android ones already have a navigation thing on it? (ive never used it on my work phone but my friend has it on his android). Or do you have an iPhone? If so, stick with your tomtom for now and wait for iOS6? If you dont have a smart phone, ignore me0 -

Yes - I do - NOW - have an Android phone but have not used it in anger - I will try it soon....0 -
any method to jailbreak your tomtom and install maps.. I'm not asking for methods or locations, just yes or no. that's all I want to know and I think it should be enough to not get in trouble from mods.0

Sorry - what are you saying / asking ?0 -
Why worry about updating maps. Tom Tom want you to sign up for 4 per year as it suits them not you. If you don't update then a few new roads or altered roads won't show but the overwhelming majority will. I'd keep your Tom Tom if you like it and not worry about this aspect and if you eventually want to update the advice about a new one above is pretty sensible.0

He's asking if its possible to do or not, but he's not asking how to actually do it.0
