TV DDVD combi not working can I add an external DVD player

Hi
I have a Bush 22" DVD combi that is out of warranty and the DVD has decided to stop reading dvds...good tv, so dont want to scrap...can I just add a DVD player plus scart to it to carry on unsing the blessed thing?

Thanks...was just worried the inbuilt dvd might over ride the external dvd.....0

When the TV's SCART connection senses a signal from your shiny new standalone DVD player it should automatically display it.Are you for real? - Glass Half Empty??
