Hi all,
Got married last week, my new wife seems to have all her matters in order for changing her status, but I'm not sure which institutions I need to tell.
I'm self employed
Have the usual bank accounts and ISAs
Have a pension
Have a life assurance policy which will pay out to my other half
Are any of those mandatory to inform of my new marital status? Any I have missed out?

ive been married for 2 1/2 years (congrats btw), and I havent told anyone apart from work. the driving license and passport still say i live with my mum!Target Savings by end 2009: 20,000
current savings: 20,500 (target hit yippee!)
Debts: 8000 (student loan so doesnt count)
new target savings by Feb 2010: 30,0000 -
Check your pension and life assurance details. Some seem to need a specific person named while others are happy with 'spouse'.
Apart from that, I can't think of anything else. I assume you've told your mum?0 -

Isn't it an offence not to update your driving license address?Science adjusts its views based on what's observed.
Faith is the denial of observation, so that belief can be preserved.

Yes it is. £1000 fine if the DVLA get wind if I remember right. Since it only costs a stamp and an envelope to get in changed I really don't understand why people don't do it (unless they're criminals and trying to avoid being caught)Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0 -
definately your pension and insurance providers.
The Inland Revenue like to know these things too!0 -

They just do! when you fill out your tax forms you indicate whether you are single or married - if that changes then I would think they would want to know (as it was important to them to ask).
may have something to do with some obscure allowance.........?0 -
I've just got married and my husband hasn't informed anyone as far as I'm aware. Maybe I should get him to look into it.0
