Ok, have put the pics on Photobucket. And written my trip advisor review

Ana, you've got what look like very personal letters in that photo album as well, you don't want the whole world being able to look at them.
Those lounger mats look manky all right.
the toenails - yes gross person to have done that, but did you report it and were they cleaned up immediately? It could have been done by someone 10 minutes before you got into the room, so it's not necessarily a sign of poor cleaning.
The egg does look a bit unpleasant but only because it's over cooked so the yolk is solid as well, so it looks more like a deformed hard boiled egg. And it is weird to serve it separately - I thought caesar with poached egg normally has a soft poached egg (and a real poached egg will be a wonky shape, not be one of those 'flying saucer' shaped things from an egg steamer) on top of the salad itself, so the runny yolk then forms part of the dressing of the salad. So I would complain about the egg from the point of view of being served on the side not on the salad, late, and being very overcooked.Cash not ash from January 2nd 2011: £2565.:j
OU student: A103 , A215 , A316 all done. Currently A230 all leading to an English Literature degree.
Any advice given is as an individual, not as a representative of my firm.0 -
Doesn't look look that appealing from the photos. I personally think you should go for the whole refund and see what they offer. Yes I agree it is unrealistic but see what they come back with. Would also add to the letter that you have lost confidence in that spa and would not accept a free spa offer at the same place.
Also were they a national chain? I don't see any issue in naming them and think you should say who they are.0 -
heretolearn, thanks for your concern, but those other photos are solely for this place - they're scam letters from a PPC that I have scanned and posted for the Parking Fines board here, so not a problem to share them. If you can see any pics of small children, please shout up, they are NOT meant to be there!!
The egg was served separately because it was late. Like I said, how hard can it be to get all the ingredients for a SALAD in place at the same time?!!?!
Have emailed my complaint to SpaBreaks, as my contract was with them, I think, and have asked for the 75% refund. The hotel itself was part of a national chain. Will update when I know more. Thanks for help, support and opinions.

Just the PPC letters. Glad you got the correct advice from the parking forum here
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0 -

I did. I LOVE this place! Hopefully I'm starting to be a bit more helpful myself, rather than just asking all the time!!
Thanks again0 -
I do hope you get some money back, but, I think there is a problem with the word spa.
While to me it conjures up something like champneys or ragdale hall (never been),it is often used to describe an average hotel with a slightly grimy ageing swimming pool sauna area and a masseur, beautician. They are rarely luxurious. To me that is not a spa,and I would rather just pay to go to a beautician.Lack of robes is an issue. An egg is an egg.
So sorry to hear about your friend, how stressful.x
What star rating did the hotel get on tripadviser?0 -
Yes, really not a Spa day. The one on groupon wasn't really either - it was in a beauty salon! Lack of robes is a BIG thing for me - I'm not especially body confident and found it a bit of a trauma to be walking about in a swimsuit and towel.
Hotel gets a 3.5 on TAdvisor. I'm not surprised, to be honest; when we were looking for venues for my husband's 40th we found the staff to be very indifferent then too.
Will update with outcome, anyway. Thanks again x0 -
Wow, looking at the photos it looks worse than I thought.
Did you complain to staff on the day? what was their reaction?
It looks like you received a sub standard service for what you paid for.
That egg is terrible, did you send it back?Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
I did complain on the day, to the spa receptionist, the therapist and the waitress in the bar. The spa receptionist told me she was having a rubbish day, the therapist told me the room was always noisy and the waitress just looked at me and then went off to get the egg, which she threw down onto the table without a word.
Did not bother sending the egg back, as it was already a good 15 mins since my friends had got their meals, and I didn't want to hold us up any further. Two of us needed to be gone by 3.30, to pick up our kids, so time was short after lunch to get another swim in.
The toe nails were still there after lunch, btw :S0
