This seems to be happening a lot, there was a thread on the credit card forum about certain cards having problems on noddle. Trying again a bit later seems to work for some people.
Edit: not being registered on the electoral role could be the problem.
ok i will try again later...
how do i get registered on the roll then?0 -

Electoral registration takes place on a local basis by each local authority Electoral Registration Officer. The electoral register is updated on a monthly basis, except between August and November when local authorities perform an annual canvass of their area. You can register to vote at any time of the year by contacting your local authority to ask for a registration form. You can find their contact details by visiting www.aboutmyvote.co.uk where you can also download a registration form. If you have recently moved house or changed your name, you will need to re-register to be eligible to vote.Total Debt: £4610.75

You apply to your local council. If you apply today you will appear on the electoral roll from 1 July 2012. Then it can take anything from a month to over 2months for that to be reflected at the credit reference agencies.
If you were hoping to get a mortgage at some point then not having had any debt will not be sufficent by itself to help you. You need to get on the electoral roll ASAP. And you need to be able to show a history of using and repaying credit on time (no credit history can be as bad as a poor credit history as potential lenders have nothing to judge you against).A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -

If you can get a credit card and pay it off at the end of every month then that will help if you just put a small purchase on each month. As long as they can see you managing your credit it will help. But only do this once you have checked your credit report as if it isn't great don't apply searches don't help. all the credit references have tools to show if you are likely to be accepted without damaging your credit rating.Total Debt: £4610.75

Totally agree but would add that don't apply for anything until you're on the electoral roll (and are showing this status on your credit report) - usually an automatic rejection if you're not and, as Billinghamfan says, lots of searches aren't good.Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
