Good afternoon. Just mowed the lawns and am now waiting for dinner to cook (with a little assistance from me!).

Apparently the torch bearers are given the option to buy the torch for just under £300 after using it. Just had a look on Ebay expecting them to have been banned, and there is one on there saying available form 17th June! I am not keen on the olympics, but I think this is bringing it into disrepute, surely?

Picked up 4 wombles yesterday, one was from February, one was from March, one was £1.04 cheaper in Tesco, and I got 1p back on one! Don't think I will be printing that one!!

Possibly me - we get through a 2 litre bottle of value sparkling water, 17p most days. I top the grape juice up - not sure its very good for the teeth :)

I cant wean my OH off coke- he drinks coke zero or pepsi max. Very annoying when you have a house full of juice.

mhoc Unfortunatley it is very addictive I would drink maybe 5 or 6 a day and have done for a lot of years .What made me do it was I had put on weight an started a new healthy eating plan and I was not allowed to have it, so stopped having it in the house.I gave up smoking 9years ago so this was a lot easier to cope with,so am very pleased with myself 2stone lost and got rid of a bad addiction since february:D

Does your OH drink tea or coffee only my DS in law, Lala's DH only drinks diet coke(and beer of course);)no beverages

A tradition dating way back to.......the 1936 games.

You will probably be surprised to learn that the Olympic torch relay is a relatively modern addition to the Olympic Games. It was begun at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin, Germany as a way of showing the supposed superiority of Aryan youth and of the Nazi regime.

Cancelled the tickets for tonight. Can't be bothered to drive over 100 miles on an if and maybe I might like the gig. Anyone wanting tickets it might be worth entering the code thats on HUKD as I bet quite a few have been cancelled.

PMSL!!! amazing the roots of some of our modern day traditions. I wonder how many actually knew about the Nazi connection? I certainly didn't.

The Tetley Extra Strong 160 teabags were £2.55 BOGOF SEL. Good buy as under 1p a bag :D
Bought them but went through till at £4.86 each :eek::eek:
Went to CS & took SA to SEL. It definitely states offer ends in June & was for 160 soft pack.

    :T:T:T Good day

Quick check on tesco.com shows its the 80's that are £2.55 and BOGOF. Might be a mislabeled SEL? Hopefully a nationwide glitch, on my list to check tomorrow as my dad loves them
