Our jubilee fun day started off OK, everything sorted with about 30mins to spare, just had to wait on a few more tables to be delivered but everything was waiting where they had to go.
The rides for kids took longer than thought to put up so there was a long line of kids waiting to get on.
We had a DJ, BBQ, sweet stall, 3 different inflatabes for the kids, a waltzer, bungee trampoline things and a face painter. We also had a tea dance for our golden oldies.
Everything was going well until some of the oldies noticed the things the kids were being given and decided that they NEEDED to have the same things so went and some stole a whole box full, leaving none for the kidsso someone had to go and explain that they needed to get the box back because the kids had nothing, queue a big fuss and loads of ranting about never being given anything nice.
The same culprits also dove into a box of souviner gift bags that were for the tea dance folks leaving very little for the others, we guessed that they got at least 2or 3 of the gifts each when there were enough for them to get one goodie bag each. We had to count what was left and offer them a choice so they could only have 1 item eachMany were so disapointed and we had to explain that if the items were put back they would all get a bag each containing 1 of each item, no one owned up to taking any even though we could see them under their chairs.
Then when they were leaving they complained about not getting enough, 30 of them got the stuff meant for 50 and there had been stuff left over that we plated up for them to take home. They had even took stuff that was brought in for the staff lunches as we had to eat and run but never got any of that because it had been taken
You would have thought they'd be happy with getting something for free but about half done nothing but complain because so and so got this or that and they didn't.
The rest were happy just to get out for a few hours that we spent a lot of time with them and got them up to dance and left the grouchies and ungratefuls to go complain to someone else.
I must admit that the kids had a great time, no complaints eventhough some didn't get their freebies they were still happy and so were their parents :T Think I'll stick to kids or oldies parties but never do both on the same day, at the same time.
I had decided to take half the carling to this one and half to the other because I only felt it fair but some scum stole them :eek:
They had been put into the office ready for us to give out when people were going home, whoever took them also took the £50 we'd raised for our summer scheme through selling burgers and hot dogs
There were so many people comming and going at one point we had to have someone on the door to keep everyone but oldies out so don't know when it was taken.
Why are there scum out there who want to ruin good things? Just a bad end to the daySPC #329 £471/£500 banked
SPC 2014 £1100:D

There are some very very selfish nasty people in the world and some of them you met today. Try not to let it spoil the great thing you did and the enjoyment you gave to a lot today. I am sure you made lots of people happy so ignore the scumbags0 -

That's terrible. There are always the small few that have to ruin things for everyone else. :mad:N1LDA0 -

Just wanna say a huge SORRY to Nannylala and Nikki :A:A
My message to you both somehow cut off the bottom of my last post and I had to run out to walk the dogs as it had started raining so didn't notice
I'm so sorry to hear of your sister's illness Nannylala, especially as you have such a close relationship. She sounds like a wonderful lady. Sending big hugs and lots and lots of luck to Auntylala in her forthcoming battle. :Axxx'There are people who have money and people who are rich' :heart2: Coco Chanel0
