I've jailbroken my Apple TV and they have to be named slightly differently to what they would be any other way. Instead of naming each episode the episode name I have to name them S01E01 S01=Season 01 etc E01=Episode 01 etc. XBMC on my Apple TV will then do the rest and bring up the name and description of the episode. I can also view the episode trailer, if I can figure it out...
Thankfully the movies were a lot easier to sort out.
For now I'm just making do with my old Popcorn Hour clone.
I've gotta rename them because they're from different sources - various 'scene' groups, newsgroups, thebox etc, the names are all over the place. Not much of a problem for me but my highly dyslexic sister wants a copy too
I haven't looked into naming them for XBMC but I take it that it'll be a nightmare because there isn't any clear consensus as to episode numbering for Doctor Who. As long as I can get them named to some sort of uniform standard I'll be able to batch convert the names later... I hope :rotfl:0 -

XBMC is the plan, eventually. I'm waiting to see how well the finished version for my Raspberry Pi performs before splashing out on an Apple TV or similar.

But if you were to splash out on an Apple TV the 3rd generation (the newest model) isn't Jail breakable.....yet. You would need the 2nd generation and these are scarce at the moment, unless you happen to pick one up on Gumtree for a reasonable amount because the person selling it doesn't know that they are scarce and commanding a premium because they can be jail broken. The whole Jail breaking process is simple enough. Installing XBMC requires lines of code to inputted through Terminal (Mac) or another programme for Windows. There are plenty guides on the internet but don't just read it and think "I can't do that!" as it's actually quite simple when it comes down to it. I was going to pay a premium and purchase one from eBay with everything installed but I'm glad I didn't now.:D
I paid £60 for my ATV 2 that was advertised on Gumtree. It should have been £55 but he changed the price at the last minute as he "lost the original remote and had to buy a new one" or at least that was his excuse. It was still a bargain in my eyes and I'm hoping to pick up another to use at mums.0 -
I know some people turn their noses up at the pound shops, but you can sometimes find a real bargain in them! I went in for the big bottles of sweet chilli sauce....about 4 times as much for half the price it is anywhere else.
We have a lot of stir fry dinners and use a lot of soy sauce and sweet chilli sauce.
I was buying some this afternoon in T and just happened to notice that in the worldwide section that they had much bigger bottles at a much lower price.
My DD was a bit sceptical but as I said to her, if we saw that bottle of soy sauce in a specialist Chinese grocers, covered in Chinese writing, we would think it was authentic and genuine and probably better than the stuff we usually buy so surely it is worth a try.
I noticed the same thing a while ago with peeled garlic cloves in vinegar - very handy if you like garlic but can't always be bothered to peel it or like me, only use it occasionally so most of it dries up before I get to it. In the T Ingredients range they do a small bottle but in the Polish section they have a much bigger bottle at half the price. If you're not scared, you're not paying attention0 -

Decided to treat ourselves to a finest meal deal.....and the extra 20% did come off as well. Biscuit voucher & bogof worked fine, and we've now got some birdseye burgers and a few pies in the freezer too.
It's prob been posted but the fiano wine from the meal deal normally compares against ATiger
