Tops are easy - most xs from the mens dept will fit ok its just trousers argghhh - & T's only go up to 13/14 which is what I was buying last year, try Primark as they start some of the trousers in a 26 waist
I agree with clipstrip, Primark mens section, my 14 year old is a skinny as a pole and the XS clothes and 28 waist trousers fits him great, plus you can still get the trouser length options that you dont get with 'childrens age' clothes, (they just dont realise that legs grow, but waists sometimes dont!)
They are fab for socks and pants too, infact the XS pants I got him a while ago were smaller than the kids pants he had before! they do XXS t shirts if he wants skinny T's that are still long enough to cover his belly button too!
If hes growing fast, you dont want to be spending alot on clothes either, as he will be out of them in a few months0 -

My son is 14 and needs new clothes, he has had a growth spurt in the last couple of months. Age 15 from Next fits him perfectly, can only order from Next online as they don't stock age 15 in their stores.
M&S are hit and miss for his size, some fit, some don't.
Debenhams stock up to age 16 but limited choice in store so again means buying online. Would rather buy in store as then he can try them on and save me the fuss of having to send them back if they not fit or he not like them. T shirts, shorts and hoodies I can buy in sports shops but the choice is not that great. Am struggling with the basics such as pj's, underwear etc.
Have looked in Holister as seems to be the trendy shop for teens, but so expensive especially as he will probably not get much wear out of them before he has another growing spurt.
Seems he is between children's sizes and adults sizes. I can not remember having the same problem with my older son.
Please can anyone suggest where else I can look for clothes for him.
Have you tried new look? We got the boys trousers from there as they grow out of them so fast & buy tops and shorts from holister and super dry as they last longer and like them to have some trendy things.0 -

River Island do nice stuff in XS.
Buying the smallest adult size and washing in too hot a wash to shrink it can work.
New Look and Primark for bargains. TopMan and Burtons do an XS.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Thank-you, will definitely look in Primark, he is quite skinny although seems to be filling out. Trousers with different length options sounds great and as you say I not want to spend a fortune only to have to do so a few months later.Born to glitch0 -

I didn't realise New Look sold mens clothes...thank-you, another shop to try..:T:T
I did buy a couple of polo shirts from Hollister, they are nice even though expensive. I hate that shop though, so dark, need a torch just to read the label...:rotfl::rotfl:
Think saturday I will take him to Cardiff and around all the shops so he can choose some clothes..
Thank-you all for your suggestions :T:T:T:TBorn to glitch0 -
Hi locarr , I must admit that I didn't agree with the hiding the thread etc but well done to you for suggesting it and putting it out there for discussion , at least it gave us posters the chance to air our points of view and give opinions .
:T
Thanks,:)
altho arn't we already hidden on the gone board? so the argument that we don't want to hide away is a bit weak?

Welcome:T:T:TDon't worry about daft questions we're all a bit daft on here anyway;)
Speak for yourself.
No I actually agree we are a daft lot over here, me included. Did you read I showed off my stashes to OHs family after a couple glasses of glitched champagne. They must think I am as mad as the Mad Hatter. Although they didn't say no to the few bits I gave them.0 -

I had this problem with mine from about the age of 12, childrens clothing ranges never fitted them so thye went straight into mens range.
My youngest likes New Look mens if you can find a bigger store that stocks it. He was a 28 or 30 waist  but with very long legs and we often got jeans and shorts for him on the sales racks (a bit like ladies sale racks if you are a size 8 you can find some excellent things in the sales!) On average we were paying £5 for jeans and £3 for t-shirts“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
Popping out to get the car from the garage, still can't believe it passed. on me tonight I think.0
