Question for Frequent please.
Am I right in thinking you have to give new plaster a coat of PVA glue prior to papering or painting .:)
Mr Lala says wickes do a cheap new plaster paint;)I always thought you were'nt supposed to paper new plaster for 6 months or is Mr lala fibbing to me:cool:mymerrywidow wrote: »they dont go out of date until end july. keep them, you will use them up.
afternoon all. i am ok. tommorrow i am gonna get son to walk me with my stick down to the village, we have a metro tesco down there. if i find it too much we can get a taxi back. i am too scared to try it on my own though. gonna take a "granny" shopping trolley with us as well..

First you say morals don't come into it then say its wrong to take from someone elses trolley! It's not actually theirs until they've paid for it.
Seems you want morality only when its convenient for you.
I've typed out about 10 replies to this and every one would just keep this argument going and i don't want that.
You think what you want, I'll think what i want and we can let the thread carry on as normalApparently, everybody knows that the bird is [strike]the word[/strike] a moorhen0 -
Just taken a few test shots and yep, theres a blob in the sky shots. Looks like dust on lens or on sensor. wonder how jessops/fuji will deal with this! Bet they try and wash their hands of it despite the camera only being 3 months old0

I'm sorry but your remarks defending the person in the supermarket fly in the face of everything this thread stands for. We pride ourselves on here for being thoughtful, caring and sharing. Well at least I thought we did.
Can't be bothered anymore.......going out.0 -

I think it was less about defending that person but more about not applauding removal or damaging of items in people's trolleys.0 -

Hello Wirehair, would love to be by the coast today.
If you are painting, there is a paint for new plaster.
Is expensive.
Cheaper to get 10 litre of white emulsion, tip out 1/4 of the pot and fill up with water. Give a good mix and use it as mis-coat.
Don't forget to undercoat the wood work with the emulsion while your at it
The new plaster will suck up the water leaving a thin film of paint on the surface ( also by using white it highlights all of the defects in the new plaster ( work on old plaster to)
Then go over with 2 coats of chosen colour.
If wall papering, usually mix up PVA into the paste, roll wall with that, then roll the paper ( i use a 4 inch brush to go round edges of paper)
Allow time for paper to expand after pasting, few minutes should do it.
Thanks so much , knew you would be able to help.:DNever pay more than you have too0 -
i just won milk :j:j:j:jlife is like a loo roll. the nearer the end you get, the faster it goes.0
