Am I correct in thinking that only the legs are edible on crabs?

i think they cooked crab on last weeks saturday kitchen with that hot james martin bloke. Think you crack the legs and can scoop out the meat. Must be on iplayer.

No you can eat the body but you have to make sure the brown bit is out....I think:o

Oh, when Westie and I are travelling everything is on the cheap cheap but we do allow ourselves a couple of indulgences at the end of trip, such as a nice hotel and a posh meal. Whatever city we are in if they are famous for something food wise we will opt for that. In Vancouver it was seafood so I had lobster and Westie had crabs. We were in the poshest restaurant in Vancouver, and boy it wasn't cheap but we had to ask for help as we had never had it before. The waiter was only too kind to help but he said the body wasn't really edible. :s
