Interesting note, Google was priced at 50x earnings at its IPO, you'd have tripled your money since then.

I actually think Google has way more valuable information than facebook, they know what you're actually searching for, not what you 'claim' to like to your friends.

Also Google is far far far superior for targeted advertising in my experience of the two, and it predicts my searches now with almost 99% accuracy from me just typing the first few letters. It obviously knows what I like and my interests.
Faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

And they offer well thought out products (most of the time). Facebook's 'tweaks' tend to damage confidence (such as their complicated privacy policy) and their poorly thought out IT changes, such as the side bar which imposes itself over the message windows and so on.

Google is worth every penny. Facebook is simply not.

    As seen on Twitter:

    Why did Facebook go public?
Because they couldn't figure out the privacy settings either.

Facebook relies solely on US giving IT the content of our lives. Unfortunately for facebook, they are having to go too far currently. This is putting users off. Even at my place of work, someone innocently became friends with a manager, and suddenly, the timeline allows the business to see exactly what she was doing on her absent days. The girl had forgotten. She didn't get the sack, but got a proper warning, but ultimately she felt so uncomfortable she left anyway. She also apparently closed her facebook account and spent ages deleting everything.

It's a powerful tool. But one which could easily catch others out. The next development I've heard of is being able to search for keywords in a group of peoples statuses. Lovely for someone who wants to keep a check on a group of people.

Lovely! Didn't know the CIA had full access to everyones profile, but it doesn't surprise me.

It's understanding a business model, you obviously don't.

If a person with the lack of business and financial knowledge like you is recommending someone to buy some shares that's a definite no no and bound to be a money loser.

All I was aking is if you had bought shares, and if not, maybe you should, as the picture you are painting is that facebook is worth the current valuation and will grow.

So surely in that case, you would be thinking about buying shares? Was a simple enough question. I assume with your response however, that you are not, therefore leads me to ask what exactly I don't understand? If it's such a great business model, surely you should be buying shares.....if you are not buying shares, then you can't think it's a great business model, and therefore side with myself and others on this thread.

It would help if you read posts instead of typing away before engaging your brain, you would look less obtuse.

It's not worth $104BN, the business model is potentially worth $104BN. There is a big difference.

Yer, thats what all shares are based on Chucky. That makes the valuation of the company.

Facebook is valued at $104bn. It's not seperated down into how much facebook is worth and how much the business model is worth.

I'm going to assume there is little point in trying to discuss this with you though, so I'll just leave it at that.

Best you do, you failed to grasp it first time it was explained.

No point discussing anything with chucky.

There's an ignore list for folks like him, and ad blockers for me for face book.
