I think the point I am trying to make is that you should take each case individually and do your research. Look at their feedback. By looking at when the auction ended, and when the seller left feedback could give a clue as to what is going on. Additionally, in my case the buyer had an Asian name, and may not have had good enough English to engage in communications.
It was clear what was going on, and I was happy to play along.0

In defence of incompetent people all over the world, a while ago I did a snipe which won the item at 99p including postage from China. However I didn't realise I won and didn't find out to about 3 weeks later when I noticed an unpaid item in my ebay account. The seller hadn't contacted me to ask for payment. I paid immediately once I noticed but didn't contact the seller to let him know.
A couple of months passed and I received nothing. I figured this was just deserts for my tardy payment so didn't chase it up. Then yesterday the item arrived. Quite shocked to receive the item I went to leave 5 star feedback for the seller but couldn't, I guess since it was so long ago it has dropped off the feedback list!
So all in all neither of us contacted each other during the 3 months of the transaction, both of us were as slow as hell, no one reported anyone for anything, but it all worked out fine!0

I have one at the moment who bought a large item from me and opted for collection. Proceeded to send me her phone number and ask me to ring to arrange collection. (Odd, because I provided my tel #). I did ring, next day, to be told that she'd "had some bad news" and might have to go away for a few days, but "don't think I'm ignoring you...". Ten days later (and noticing that she had left feedback for someone else in the meantime) I opened a NPB case. A couple of days later, she messaged me to say that she'd be back tomorrow, and would contact me to arrange collection, still wanted the item, etc.
Today I got a message asking me to "drop it off" to her friend on Sat who would be in such-and-such a place in the nearest town (10 miles away!)
Any guesses what my reply was? :rotfl:
I haven't closed the NPB yet though. Call me curious...:A;)They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0

I would close it now. Prevents her messing you around further and prevents any feedback.0
