BPO collections - Unknown debt?

Hi, has anyone been contacted by phone by BPO ? I have had two text messages from them in the last two days asking me to contact them. My mobile isn't a contract one so I don't know how they got my number. I don't even live in Glasgow. I'm thinking of just ignoring the texts. After reading this thread I'm worried things will only get worse if I contact them. Any advice would be helpful.0

I've had incredible trouble with these people. I set up a payment through their website. When the RBS system died and payment transactions crashed I got a threatening note from them saying if the full balance was not paid I'd have a visit. I called them and said they must have heard of the RBS problems and that was why my payment had faulted. I was further threatened with a visit. I arranged three payments with them, one went out then it stopped. I paid the remainder off, never received a confirmation the account was closed. This morning I was charged two months which I'd already paid which has taken me to the point of being broke. Called them and was told it was "tough luck", but these errors occur. They had no interest in sorting the problem. They don't respond to online enquiries.0

Just read other people have had problems with them via BT. I'd called BT and established I didn't owe, but paid to avoid problems. I'm not kicking myself for not fighting it.0

I too have just received a text message from them today saying it's regarding Sky. I haven't had Sky services in years and I never owed anything when I closed my subscription with them - because the subscription was always paid a month in advance of any services and they ended up crediting me at the end (only for a few £).
Not received any letters or other contact from this BPO bunch and I won't be calling them in a hurry. I'm gonna sit on it and wait and, in the meantime, I have blocked the number they messaged me on. No doubt they have others though! If they send me anything further, then I'll go from there, but I'm not panicking. Had similar from Max Recovery over non-existent debts and they just vanished of their own accord0 -
We too received a number of threatening letters from BPO regarding a small amount - 51 pounds. Being unaware of this debt I contacted SKY directly who assured me that they had no record of outstanding debts. They advised me to pass the email on to the local police force as someone trying to co-herce money out of us. We have done this and notified BPO that we have done so. Not had a reply from them!0

Hi - interesting thread ... I had a text today on an old mobile phone (which I only use as an alarm clock), saying "this is a message from BPO please contact us today on telephone number 01413750991". Have never heard of BPO - I'm thinking that this is some sort of scam and will not be responding - but am also a bit worried in case bailiffs come knocking at my door!!!0

I myself just received a letter from these people telling me that I oew almost £900.
I have never heard of them or the company they say they represent and they even got my gender wrong.
I shall be informing them via e-mail that I have passed the letter onto the police as a poster above did and shall await a response.
Cannot believe they can be anything other than scam artists.0
