Good point, I did feel bad for writing such a harsh comment but the trouble with gambling is that although it may start off small, it can turn into a major problem. And with almost £30k of debt it's just daft.

Also have to admit that in a previous relationship I was a slot machine widow so that may colour my perception somewhat!

Barbeduk - I could not agree with you more!! I have been struggling with a gambling problem for the last 10 years. My gambling troubles started with small bets which gradually got bigger and bigger. I am 26 and I have wasted over £100k (no it's not a mistake and thats a conservative estimate)!

LBD - the only advice I can give you is please please please try and address the issue before it becomes a problem, I wish I had done that!!

Compulsive gambling can escalate but its only each individual that can ascertain whether they are compulsive or not,

    Good to be aware though!

Just wanted to say how brave you have been to admit here about your problems and that's the first step! please please make sure you go to GA. Gambling wasn't a solution to your problems most likely it was a way of escaping them - forgetting everything and getting lost in the moment. It is the "nearly" winning that keeps you going back so you need to stay clear! you know this yourself but its very hard so get good help from GA and hopefully from others on here! wishing you the very best for your journey to success !
