You set a rental figure which clears costs and makes a small profit.

So what is the reason to increase rent it costs have dropped.
I really hope that you do realise that the tenant has to agree to the rent he pays. The greedy landlord that you have pictured in your little head doesn't hold him at gun point making him pay the rent and sign the tenancy agreement. They do have a choice, it's not like the picture you try to paint in your little fantasy world.

Are they? I thought they were court orders that ordered repossessions not market forces.

It's quite sad that you want people and families with children evicted from their homes so that you can get a bigger house. It's disgusting actually.

    Point proven. Cheers.

In your little mind maybe but then again that's all that matters.

The problem is collective greed, much like price fixing, yes a single greedy landlord will just have no tenants, but if they all rise prices together its 'do I aceept this rise or pay to move and accept the rise elsewhere'.

You say its not gunpoint, I agree, but it is at a point or being homeless or not.

Yet again its wrong to see families evicted from a house they can't afford, but its ok to squeeze every last penny from families despite falling costs?

My understanding is that a repossession is an enforcement of contract law, a necessary part of market forces.

We don't live in a perfect world unfortunately, market rates are the market rates.

Don't worry rates will go down at some point and then you'll be happy and over the moon and be in your happy place again.

    No worries.

As you say imply your subsequent post, rents can't really be fixed as there are too many landlords and renters. Rents find their own level as do house prices.

Prices are never right or wrong in a free-ish market they are just what is agreed between those that want to buy and those that want to sell. There is nothing more.

Really? Did he really do that?

If you do love things like that then seriously reassessing your life maybe a priority for you.
