Help Needed - ruined wedding night
Comments

Wow, you turn up at a hotel (whose check in time expires at 4pm) at half past twelve at night, i.e the next day and then get your panties in a tangle because they've given your room away. Your choice not to wait 20 mins, your choice to go to the pub instead, your choice to not make much further effort to check in throughout the day. Can you not see this situation is entirely of your own making?
Then you rant about 500 smackers' worth of compo, one weeks' free stay anywhere in the world, and your general 'outrage' about the whole incident, despite your complaint being generously dealt with.
You are so absolutely off the mark in terms of your expectations and overall demeanour. I think you're getting away lightly on here tbh, with the comments you're getting. I've seen people absolutely flamed for less."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -

Seems to me the hotel have been more than generous in how they handled this.
There have been crossed wires which you should take 50% of the responsibility for - in your rush you left bags with a porter and didn't think to make a proper enquiry about checking in later. Did you really turn up to your hotel 30 mins before the wedding being completely and absolutely ready to go - no requirement for even brushing of teeth etc and time for a pint as well? Did nobody else in the queue for check in notice you and best man in all your finery looking dishevelled and stressed and let you go first?
I know this is all hindsight but is this insistence on taking things further more to do with having someone else to blame rather than just apologising to your wife that you ballsed up in your rush on the day?0
