Here once again is the extract from their Ts & Cs which say quite clearly that membership is open to anyone, whether inside the UK or outside, so long as the potential member's country has no law against it:"The Pigsback.com Programme is for the use of residents of Ireland and the United Kingdom. Residents of other countries will be accepted into the Pigsback.com Programme, however it is their sole responsibility to ensure that participation in the Pigsback.com Programme does not contravene any local laws."
Is that clear enough? Despite the errors in punctuation?
I realise full well that the restriction to countries in the British Isles on the sign-up page seems to fly in the face of this, but that, I'm afraid, is an issue which PB should deal with one way or the other.
In the meantime, we have had numerous requests from our Danish friends for help with mobile phone validation, and I think in each case the generosity of a MSE member has helped them out. The point here, of course, is that PB are presumably mailing the vouchers to our Danish piggies!
Breaking the rules would not be "unfair" (a strange choice of word), but plain wrong. However, the rules are NOT being broken.
As an aside, I am curious as to why Danish citizens seem to have caught onto to PB more than residents of any other country. I realise that English is spoken both widely and well in Denmark, but the same is true of some other countries, notably the Netherlands.Much of the social history of the Western world over the past three decades has involved replacing what worked with what sounded good. - Thomas Sowell, "Is Reality Optional?", 19930 -
My husband has just tried to enter the jackpot for Dancing on Ice. However, he gets this message
"Sorry, you're account has either not been validated or has not been active long enough to enter this jackpot."
He has been with Pigsback for a year, has ordered (and received!) rewards, and has won a competition.
Anyone have any inkling as to why the above message would have appeared? Oh, just remembered, he also entered a jackpot for Strictly Come Dancing!0 -

It isn't comercially sensitive.... it's actually a common fact that is reported in trade press and their websites (simple google/yahoo search will show this). It is also not commercially sensitive information that last yr a sum of 2.5 million pounds was put into PB by a private investment company. does everyone need to suddenly produce a bibliography of references on each post !!! !!!!!!.
And unfair wasn't a poor choice, as since PB is primarily targeting UK & Eire for it's marketing cash to go overseas where it is less likely to be re-couped is unfair on PB, and also on us as members as ultimately this means less PP's for us.
Although i would like to work for Tesco's if they are doing grocery deliveries to Denmark from the UK, although i don't think even tesco food would keep it's freshness for that long a delivery! I also don't think TK Maxx would have been too impressed giving away 50p/a time to our danish friends & co without having an opportunity to turn that into sales. (although there probably is a tk maxx in demark - i wonder if they all look the same inside?) have i illustrated my point a little clearer ?? bloedsinn!
put's blinkers back on to see the other point of view

i wonder if we do genuinely have requests from danes, or just homegrown piggies with more than one account wanting help validating extra accounts? or perhaps even just uk & eire piggies without a mobly wanting a hand validating their account.... but for some bizarre reason not admitting to it??? hmmmm very interesting thought but i fear a little off target. i should go sleepy bye byes now.... or maybe i will do the quick quizzes before bed.. oh go on then, arm twisted.Sorry but please keep your signature to 4 lines in length - MSE Forum Team 20

None of which reveals the source of your figures.
None of which substantiates your claim that non-UK/non-Eire residents are breaking PB rules.
I did maintain a level of courtesy in my post. It seems a shame that you descend to thinly disguised swearing and a blatantly abusive tone.
As for your last proposition, I think you may be letting your imagination run away with you.
With apologies to friendly folk here, but the inaccuracy of the claim that foreign piggies are contravening PB's rules could not be allowed to pass unchallenged. It is a pity that when the actual rule is quoted, it cannot simply be accepted.Much of the social history of the Western world over the past three decades has involved replacing what worked with what sounded good. - Thomas Sowell, "Is Reality Optional?", 19930 -
courtesy? pah! As for swearing, i didn't swear.
For the anally retentive amongst us the source, amongst others is e-consultancy.com release date 30 oct 06 and their source is actually a press release - so much for commercially senstitive information.
Blimey with all this mindless chitter chatter we will need a new thread soon! Again.
Reading through some of the posts, i hope PB do read this site, because in fact, for small purchases PB is quite good and it gives free rewards, however for larger purchases such as insurance or mobile phones, it's rewards just don't compare with, say, quidco.
Is Pigsback a religion ? well, how many of us follow it devoutly and attend the PB sermon of competitions each day and "religiously" log on each week? I think it's a good thing to worship a pig. Can't be as bad as some of the things people worship. And instead of giving to the collection, we can get something back from the collection each week. Marvellous. Good bye Jedi Knight, hello Pigsback.
Oh by the way, the 2nd post needs editing as for some reason the tk maxx sign up seems to have ended contrary to the stipulated closing date - unless my algerian friend has made a mistake. And wasn't the aer aran sign up period short!? are PB doing anything for comic relief?
I'd like to see PB do a few GREEN signups etc (have they already done them?)
Also on the point of the cost of rewards - anyone remember when cdwow vouchers used to be 850 points for a chart cd instead of the current 800.
isn't it funny how we refer to the PB Staff on first name terms.... now thats goood! Imagine. How special we feel. Ibet it's quite cool working at PB HQ just gleefully adding points to accounts all day keeping people happy, going home with a smile knowing oyu have probably made someone's day. if only the boots SA's could adopt the same kind of attitude more often. Smile a little smile...... smiiiiiiillllllleeee it's freeeeee.
Give someone a free smile today, and you never know, you might just get one back. If you start on a positive each day of getting a freebie smile, who knows what other delightful things can happen to you. Don't get caught up on uneccessary detail, go with the flow until it really really matters. And then, then and only then..... can you successfully reach inside, over the bridge to the other side and pluck that bogey that has been pestering you all day and gamely pull it out with a satisfied expression on your face that says..... mmmmmmmmyum LUNCH.

don't you read the PB press releases droopsnout??
So much for ahem, commercially sensitive information.
Perhaps the cost of PB rewards will go up in the future as they try to cover the costs of the rewards they post out by airmail....... hmmmm i wonder.....

Er, so ironic in fact that someone from Pigsback used to post regularly on this thread, responding to Pigsback queries. And that Pigsback use terminology that originated (I think) here e.g. CT or Click Throughs. I don't think this thread is a secret, certainly not from Pigsback. Not even wrong0
