well I have already been caught by there full to empty policy ,I was charged 60 euro+ for a Hyundai Getz deisel must have put a very large fuel tank or charged me about 1.50+ per litre and that was in reus airport ,also that cheap car hire turned in to a very dear hire when you have to leave the car back with over half a tank knowing they have over charged you on the fuel so dont know if I will hire out a car in spain again

Unfortunately almost any car hire company can do this to you now. You can't be sure until you collect the car whether they have this policy or not.

It is really quite unfair IMHO!

Last time we hired a car, in Spain, they had this policy but excluded short-term hires (less than 3 days or something). Really, they shouldn't do it for anything but I think it's a consequence of the price competition in car hire and the fact they make little money on the hire itself.

We hired a car from CarJet & picked it up from Valencia Airport. The car we had was an almost brand new Fiat Grande Punto with only 8000km on the clock.
It was really simple, but like it's been said, you have to pay for (an expensive) tank of petrol & bring it back empty. Also, we paid an extra 15 euros (I think) for the tyre or glass damage waiver (can't remember which).
The pick-up place is only a couple of mins from the exit. Basically straight over the road & to the right.
  • I forgot to add that I also have used 'doyouspain.com' in the past and they were very good and they have just beaten premiercarjet prices. I hope the link will be of use.

it seems to me Hiring a Care in europe is full of more nasty add ons ect than North America.

we had a Drive away Full ---Return Empty in Canada and they charged us a loads less than the price of the pumps for our full tank.

i think it depends on your circumstances as to if this is a bad for yourself. if you only use the car to get to your hotel then NO.
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:

I was going to ask you where you got the best quote! Thanks for reading my mind & letting us know. Have you tried the others?
