Feeling crap - advice needed

I am hoping that the nice people on here can give me some advice - I have been feeling like crap (sorry no other word for it) for about 18 months. I have lost count of how many times I have been to the GP, I am constantly tired, can not sit down for long before I am dozing off or yawning constantly, weight gain, - I have had countless blood tests and only 3 things came up.
Raised billirubin - but as I have gilberts syndrome this was already known.
abnormal B12 - had 2 weeks of intesive injections and then once every 3 months - had my last injection last wednesday (9th) evening and feel no benefit at all from these.
Raised tyroid level my first level was 5.5 then 6.2 and now 7.33 thes have all been taken in the last 6 months, my last blood test last week was the 7.33 level and when I got the results from GP surgery I was told GP wants you to wait another 6 months and have a re-test. I am afraid to say that I burst into tears - I tried to explain to the receptionist that I really can not go another 6 months feeling like this. She was really off hand and told me I would have to, would not even let me make a gp appointment now - so DH went in to surgery and I have an appointment tomorrow.

I don't want to loose it with them but what can I say to the GP to get them to do something now, my last appointment I spent 20 minutes talking to GP and still got no answer - I am really at my wits end there is no way I can carry on feeling like this for another 6 months - should I take my husband with me.

I am sorry for waffling but I really just want to feel better.

How awful for you. Feeling tired and crap on off days wears me down, never mind what you're going through!

Have or can you get a second opinion? Can you see another GP or maybe change surgery? It sounds like they have tried, but sometimes a fresh prespective can help.

    Wishing you the best

Yes, do take someone with you.
Your GP is not being obstructive (though they may have been off-hand) as there is no pint in repeating some tests unless a certain time has elapsed (I don't know the specifics of yours, just stating a general priniciple).
Say to GP that you want to begin at the beginning, and give a clear & accurate account of your signs & symptoms - write them down before you go so that you don't forget anything.
Sometimes, if someone has a condition, other signs & symptoms get attributed to it, or masked, so that's why you need to start with a clear sheet.
I know nothing about Gilbert's Syndrome, but suggest that you ask to see someone with specific knowledge; so you can get advice on managing that.
    Good luck.

Go and see your GP and take your OH with you if it will make you feel better and perhaps he can also explain how badly it is affecting you.

If you can't get any satisfaction I would be thinking about changing GP.

Thank you all for your replies - it is lovely to know that people are willing to help, to clarify a couple of things.

I am 46 (well lets say 47 as I will be that on Sunday), 5' 10" and weigh 13 stone - the heaviest that I have ever been.

Gilberts Syndrome - this is a hereditery condition where we are missing the enzyme that breaks down the billirubin that the liver produces so our bodies need to break it down differently, most doctors will tell you that this is an a-symptomatic condition. My Father and eldest son also have this condition.

At the moment I am trying to excercise to lose some of the weight, started this about 3 weeks ago, I do at least 20 minutes a day (in the morning) walking on our tread mill and I have also done this a couple of times in the evening, but not every day - not lost any weight yet.

I eat sensibly - rarely between meals, I have porridge with fresh fruit, skimmed milk and no sugar, jacket pot for lunch with either tuna or beans, occasionally coleslaw and a meal in the evening - don't normally have dessert. I drink black coffee and tea with skimmed milk (no sugar) or water never fizzy drinks and only on very rare occassions maybe 1 glass of wine of a small lager. I might have a sandwich instead of a jacket at the weekends but this is the only time that I have bread.

Yesterday was my Silver wedding anniversary and I felt so tired we cancelled our meal out - I really felt sorry for DH, I am also very emotional at the moment - which is not normally the case - i work in a support role in a school and yesterday someone made a silly comment and I burst into tears.

I am going to take DH with me tomorrow and also make some notes so as not to forget anything as the little grey cells aren't what they used to be.

Do you eat curry ? If not try some, they give a natural high.
On exercise, take it out of the home, find a local club, something unusual like Kayaking, something exciting that has an element of thrill to it, that will soon wake you up.
Plus you will meet others, who have done just the same.

Have you been tested for Hashimotos's? I suggest you contact one of the thyroid charities. What treatment is your doctor giving you for your thyroid condition?

Vit B12 issues and underactive thyroid do seem to go hand in hand. Google it. I know that you are tired, but I would do some research on your own at reputable sites and go into your Dr with more info.

Anecdotally Gilbert's can make you feel like sh*t. My DH has Gilbert's and we think DS and MIL also as they have slightly raised Bili levels, however they don't suffer, but I know that some people do.
