I'm doing a sponsored run in a few months and want to set up an internet account so that people can donate to charity. The only one I know is https://www.justgiving.com does anyone know of any others? Justigiving takes a percentage and it would be nice to find one that didn't. Bit of a longshot I guess.

    Hi ,
They do take a very little percentage I think but it is the ones the charities ask you to go through usually, well Cancer Research UK were the ones who told me about it.
    Good Luck!!

You have to bear in mind that if you want people to donate online, they want to do so through a secure site. Providing a secure site and passing the money on to the RIGHT charity costs money, so it's not unreasonable to charge a small percentage for the convenience ...

I'm not aware of anyone else offering this service either, but would be glad to know of others!

There are a few alternatives, but justgiving is the biggest and best known.
They all charge a feee for the service, which isn't unreasonable, and the fact that they help make sure that Gift Aid is claimed, means that it can work out better for the charities. I think this has been posted about before...

justgiving is by far the biggest and most known. Sadly they do charge a flat £15-20 fee per month plus VAT which can be a little harsh when you start out as a charity. As well as 5% charge - this I would feel was oughtweighed by the fact they automatically reclaim the gift aid for the charity so if you give £10 then the actual donation is worth over £11.50 to the charity even after the 5% handling fee.
