So your life has exploded

... made redundant, husband dead, friends and family abandoned you.

Months and years later,
... new people, new gatherings, and oh look, your 20 year old Little Black Dress is a hit with whole new groups of people who've never seen it before! lol.

Ok, it was so not worth the stress of getting there, but it's the ONE plus I can think of, ok? :D

To the men who don't understand this, women prefer not to bring out the same old clothes for each gathering, but common sense and economics stop us from going mad with the credit card.

What a wonderful and inspiring thread. Someone who has gone through some of the worst that life can throw at you, come out the other side still strong and found something really good about it all. True British spirit
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.

Trying to get into that old Little Black Dress would probably land me on my fat arris :o BTW I still have mine:)

ETA: I'm passing it on to my daughter.
    I'm not that way reclined

Jewelry? Seriously? Sheldon you are the most shallow, self-centered person I have ever met. Do you really think that another transparently-manipu... OH, IT'S A TIARA! A tiara; I have a tiara! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me!

Oh you've made me go all nostalgic now.Mine was heavy silk jersey, draped beautiful, deep v neck and back, fitted bodice and softly flowing skirt.Late 70's model. I am shocked to see her dresses are now around the £500 mark,I feel even worse!

I have got to tell you about my first lbd...

It was from selfridges in London, size 6 laced up at the back, tres short and strapless. I must have had very laid back folks as I wouldn't let my daughter out in it at 14! .............so I'm now at size 20 and would love to wear it again oh and I'm 40 in a couple of weeks too x

How sad am I that I have never had a LBD. However I have just invested in a very pretty pink dress so maybe that will count for something?
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
