Jet 2 check in charge ???

Hi there
Just been on the jet 2 site to check in online for our flights and it is coming up " Not available"
It says because we have infants/children in the party, we must check in at the airport
But
when we booked the flights, included in the costs is a £20 "Online check-in fee"
Surely when the booking was made, they knew that infants and children were included, and that we would have to check in at the airport, so why should we be charged for "online check in" when this is not available to us.
Do you think this is something we could claim back?
Was thinking of ringing them in the morning to see what they say, but not too hopefull

The £20 fee is for NOT checking in on-line, on-line check in is free. I had the same as we have a baby and had to pre-book a seat.I don't get nearly enough credit for not being a violent psychopath.0

Thanks for that
Not sure why there is a charge for NOT booking online though, when there should be no reason why we cannot book online
When booking the flights, it came up with 2 allocated seats for the mother and infant, but when I tried to check in online, these had disappeared and says check in is not available
Surely they have spare seats already allocated for mothers/infants, so why do they not release these for online check in?
It does state on the booking comfirmation that
Online check in charge = £200 -
hmmm will look at my booking form but pretty sure that i had to pay the extra charge for airport check in but as you say it seems like a rip off when you have no choice but to check in at the airport, i think it is also if you have children as they will have to be seated with a parent.I don't get nearly enough credit for not being a violent psychopath.0

had same problem but what gets me is, daughter gets her seat with infant free but if we want to sit next to her we must pay for seats or as we "HAVE" to checkin at airport then they will give us what seats they have left so I could be seated in front, daughter in middle, wife at back, unless we pay now and all sit together ,in my view this is a form of blackmail0

No, Jet2 do charge £10 per person for online check in- but only if you have checked in luggage, they waive it if you have carry on only.
Basically another scam, they claim cheaper hold baggage but in reality hold baggage at £32.99 return is in fact £42.99.
Another crazy "optional" fee for something which is required.0 -
Its actually more expensive to check in at airport so I wouldn't complain too hard about the "online " fee0
