Hi
I bought this tin in Ikea yonks ago, but have not got around to using it yet as I have'nt seen a recipe that calls for it.

It's quite large and has the option of being a normal round tin and the one with the middle missing.
Has anyone got any suitable recipes??
Thanks in advance
Mrs P

Hi, Mrs P! With that base in it I'd make a fatless sponge cake, and decorate it with fresh cream and fresh fruit.

A cherry & choc-chip cake:D My mum makes one of these every Christmas & decorates it with runny white icing on the top & cherries & angelica, looks fab & tastes even better:D Totally beyond me why it's always made in a ring & she only makes one a year though!Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p

I can't think of a specific recipe, although you may find one in the gateaux/glamorous dessert section of a book. I have one of those tins (although I haven't used it for yonks). I worked out the volume of it and worked out the volume of the tin used for the recipe I wanted to do and then multiplied the recipe up the required number of times. However, although longer cooking will be required, don't multiply the cooking time to the same extent. I used to use mine for cooking the cake I took to work for my birthday. So much cheaper than buying cream cakes all round:eek: and people enjoyed the change from bought stuff.0

Marble cake! Make a normal sponge cake mix but add cocoa to half of it, swirl it around as you add it to the tin but not too much or it will end up all light brown. This is something my Mum used to make all the time!0

Definitely Marble cake! I remember my nan used to cook marble cakes in hers when I was a wee nipper home in Denmark
She also used it for this cream thing... I can't think for the life of me what it was called now though argh!!! I'll try to think of it but it was basically a cream and vanilla pudding that would set in the mould and then you'd dip it in hot water and turn it upside down to get the pudding out...

AHA! Fløderand!
Preparation time: 60+min.
Any time of year
Dessert for 6-7 people
8 leafs of galatin
½ liter milk
½ stick of vanilla
6 tbs sugar
50 g finely chopped almonds without skins
½ liter whipping cream
Serve with
800 g fresh or frozen strawberries (or whatever fruit you want)
Soak the gelatin in cold water for 5 minutes. Bring the milk to a gentle boil with the halved stick of vanilla and sugar. Turn off the heat and remove from the heat and then add the soaked gelatin together with the almonds.
Whip the cream and gently fold it in when the milk has cooled down. Pour the mixture into the tin and place in the fridge for a few hours at least. Just before serving flip the pudding out of the tin and serve with strawberries.

It's a bundt cake tin, so perhaps investigate American cooking sites? This website has 180 bundt recipes to start you off with!
