Hi there I have a contract with Talk Mobile which I pay £18 per month tarrif. The phone is for my daughter so I have a £10 limit on the amount of money that she can go over that tarrif, or so I thought! I recently took the phone into Carphone Warehouse as it was'nt sending texts and I was told that there was an outstanding bill of £130 on the account. I foolishly said, "No that can't be right, she has a £10 limit on the bill" to which I was told that as she has been texting a overseas number when she went over the £10 limit there was a 72 hour delay whilst Talk Mobile managed to get there act together to block the account! I explained that I was not told that at the time and I was told that I should have read the terms and conditions, which I was never given!! Sorry to ramble. Has anyone out there been caught by the same thing and if so what did you do next. Please help as I am now £130 out of pocket and assume this can happen again!

My nephew has a similar problem. Last Thursday his phone was blocked. When he tried to text or call he got a message saying he had gone over his £50 credit limit and had to make a payment of £36 to unblock. Just checked his account and it seems he went over the 1000 texts a month limit but receivec no warning. Even though he hasn't been able to use the phone when he checked tonight the message says he now has to pay £42?0

It's typical for talkmobile. They like misleading their customers into believing that their contracts can be capped while in fact they are not. The 'credit limit' is in place only to protect Talkmobile, not the customers. They 'reserve the right' to cut the line, but have no obligations to do this.0
